Giants the 9th most value Sports Franchise n the World
The Dallas Cowboys, bought for $150 million in 1989, are currently being valued at a whopping $4 billion, a jump of 25% over last year's valuation. They are the first non-soccer franchise to top the list.
The rest of the top 10 has the New York Yankees ($3.4 billion) in fourth place, followed by Manchester United ($3.32 billion), the New England Patriots ($3.2 billion), New York Knicks ($3.0 billion), Washington Redskins ($2.8 billion), New York Giants ($2.8 billion), and tied for 10th, the Los Angeles Lakers and San Francisco 49ers ($2.7 billion). |

I find it refreshing. It's about the football and the team
The NHL could use some of his magic
His team can rule the NFC East cellar forever, doesn't matter.
Realignment will NEVER affect his team (even though, geographically he belongs in the NFC West). His Cowboys will always play THE BIG TOWN (NY) because that's where he will always belong - in the limelight.
In summary, he understands something better than ANYBODY in the sports business - It's ALL about the BRAND.
I remember when he first opened the new stadium, he spoke of it as a temple (and himself as a caretaker priest). Can we say the same thing about MetLife (flawed as it is and sharing it with the flea-bitten Jets) ?

doesn't mean we can't do it all

You hit the nail on th head. He soared right past brand recall and educated/entertained/etc a market straight to brand equity. An amazing job
The Knicks own their own arena, in the middle of NYC. Prime real estate. And their own network. They print money. If the NBA didn't have a salary cap it would be a George Steinbrenner Yankees-type advantage compared to most NBA teams.
Good question. According to local news on the story, it's a 35% increase over 2015.

NFL ownership a modern day equivalent of a slavery plantation.
NFL ownership a modern day equivalent of a slavery plantation.
Horribly inaccurate analogy.

be public, and traded with citizen ownership given that taxpayers are always paying for their stadiums to some or all extents.

You are too kind - I would go with blazingly idiotic.
Yup, still idiotic.

Next year the Dallas brand will be worth even more. This summer Dallas opens their new training complex, and it's not just a training complex.
Jones has set it up where it will be a travel destination. There is a 16 story five star hotel with shops and places to frequent all year round.
Jones has also partnered with a major hospital to give Dallas the most advanced training and sports medicine facility in the US.
Dallas has also partnered with the community with their 12,000 seat stadium so the Frisco school district will be able to use for their sporting events. Jones being a good neighbor.
The cost for this complex so far has been put at around 1.5 billion, and the site has not been completely developed.
I say next year Forbes will have the Dallas Cowboys brand in the 5 billion dollar range, easily the most in the world.
Motivations are altruistic, he's just a world-class marketeer.
As far as Dallas moving out of the NFC East, I agree it's not going to happen. The rivalries just generate too much interest (and money for the NFL). If the Cowboys were in Seattle, the same would apply.
As far as the Cards reference, they're loser no-bodies (last NFL Championship, 1947). Nobody cares what they want.
In San Antonio. The Raiders want out of Oakland, and if the don't end-up in Las Vegas, the might jump to "San-Tone".
That would drive Jones to pull out all of his pubic hair because he sincerely believes San-Tone loves him.
