"I'm used to being outside, but I'm coming along at nickel," he said. "They are working me in there daily. I'm just trying to help the team." The position brings a lot more responsibility than playing outside.
"The zone drops, the blitzing, a little bit of everything because I never played the slot," Jenkins said. "But I always learn in case someone gets hurt. Next man up!"

I think he's a lot better suited for that position, he's a top-tier athlete - speed, agility, reactions and intelligence. (I'm rooting hard for Donte Deayon to also make an impact at this position).
Apple, the #1 pick, what I wish for him (and for the team) is that he become the next Richard Sherman - that can deal with big receivers of the NFL , like Brandon Marshall, Dez Bryant etc. ....

Top 10 over-all pick, he needs to deliver, BIG.

You still going with this?
Some issues being none of these three guys (DRC, Jenkins and Apple) are suited for the slot. Further Apple is going to have some growing pains as well no matter where he lines up. And while nobody wants to see our high draft pick on the bench, Apple may find himself losing out on snaps in 2016 if a smaller CB fits into the slot better and they prefer to keep Jenkins outside.
And then it may all get tossed up again in 2017 depending on rumors with future of DRC...
Jenkins is an Asante Samuel type and I'd think you'd want him jumping passes into the flat. thats his game. he is not a rough and tumble, blitzer tackler. he's a playmaker.
Turn big CBs into twisted pretzels quickness and change-of-direction moves.

Disagree strongly based on my view of Apple. If he has to take Slot on for 2016 than so be it, but I think he will get picked on constantly.
Maybe I am wrong...i think its happened before.
You are right as Jenkins is a much better option to play inside. DRC played nickel after he was traded to the Eagles and he struggled early on and is a much better fit outside where I hope he sees the majority of his playing time. I think Trevin Wade and Deayon will play more than expected if there is an injury to any of the CB's.
Won't be out-run or out-jumped (DRC & Apple) ...
At the slot, a guy who won't be juked and left behind for big scores.
That, I believe is what the Giants have in mind.
I don't recall Ross playing the slot at all as a rookie. He was essentially a starter from day 1 on the outside.
They will have issues with the jitterbug type WR......which we hope can be covered by Jenkins or one of the smaller cbs
I liked the Apple pick and have a good feeling he'll be solid this year. Maybe not right away but after a few games he'll settle down.
Honestly, we have to hope our whole secondary stays healthy for once, especially starting CB's.
