Alternatives to the Direc TV Sunday Ticket

Reb8thVA : 7/16/2016 10:08 am
Direc TV has been treating me very poorly with their repair service. I make appointments, they don't show or if they do they don't have the tools to fix the problem. The only reason I have DIrec TV is because of the Sunday ticket. I want to cancel because of their poor service but I don't want to miss the Giants games. Any good recommendations?
I believe the only 2 legal options are

Going to a bar to watch games or moving to NYC/North Jersey area.

I'm sure there are plenty of illegal streaming options though.
Yes, the AT&T transition has not been kind to DTV's once

Great customer service.

They do offer streaming but in most cases you need to live where you can't get directv. If you have a kid in college, you can sign up through them.

Otherwise, it's the sports bar I'm afraid.

has always provided great service to me. I canceled them for cost. I miss a lot of things about them since signing on with Comcast.

Sunday Ticket is not a must have for me anymore in the Philadelphia. With the great number of games on national TV on Sunday and on Thursday and Monday nights there are not many games I cannot see without Sunday Ticket. Listening on WFAN and seeing the highlights later is okay by me.
International GamePass and VPN

Best purchase and decision I have made in forever. Completely legit NFL product with Live HD games and archiving to watch any game over again with tons of broadcast options. Will run you on average 180-200 for the season (depending which "country") you buy from. The VPN will probably cost $5 per month.

Again..super worth it.
if all you care about are Giants games...

then all you need is a VPN and a local channel package from your local cable provider. Log into a VPN server located in NJ/NY, go to the Foxsports or NBCsports website and log in with your local cable provider credentials, and viola! It won't work with CBS games, but if the Giants are the CBS game of the day you'll get it on local CBS anyway. VPN and local tv will cost $20-25/month. This is what I do, and it's legal.
Because I am a technological idiot......

One thing you may want to consider is what I do

I only have DTV for Sunday ticket, I have Verizon FiOS for everything else.

DTV forces you to maintain a minimum level of service to get Sunday Ticket.

So I do, and I usually negotiate Sunday Ticket at a discount if not free.

then after football season I go "on vacation" which is a DTV status that suspends my account from January until September and DTV bills me $0 every month until I "reactivate" and get it again.

It's somewhat expensive to do this during football season, but worth it to me.
I recommend...

TorGuard for a VPN.
I may need to look into this myself

Game Pass......can see any 1:00PM game after 4:30, and the 4:00PM games when they are over.....can watch a half hour version, or you can watch the whole game without commercials in about 1.5 hours......

Usually about 3/4 of the Giant games are broadcast in the Boston area, so as for the rest, I won't be missing any games this year....can also watch the highlights of other teams, in upcoming games.

Best part? Got it at half price during their new customer promotion....
Is there
