It's almost unbelievable that that is compiled from only 2 years, his first two in the league at that.
Of course the touchdown one hander vs Dallas is unreal and almost untouchable as a "best ever" (not for him, best ever like all time any WR best ever.)
But if I had to pick a favorite aside from the Dallas TD it might be the 6 yard TD toe drag vs the Dolphins that's initially called a non catch until Coughlin challenged it.
Beckham's awareness on that play is ridiculous. He jumps up pointing because he knew he was inbounds, and I think TC throws the challenge flag without even waiting on advice from "upstairs". He just trusted OBJ knew where he was.
In one play, OBJ one upped Toomer's entire impressive career of gorgeous toe taps and toe drags at the sideline. FFing unreal. Unbelievable toe drag TD - ( New Window )
as it is to watch OBJ go get it. There are times Eli just tosses up jump balls and if it wasn't OBJ on the other end the pass would as likely be picked off as not...
And there are other times, like over the top of Sherman, where Eli is pushing OBJ right to the limit of what he can get to out of fear of an under thrown ball that Sherman feasts on. Watching OBJ vs Sherman, you actually see quite clearly how good Sherman is. He's impressive as hell. OBJ is schooling plenty of other guys but he only gets a quarter or a half stride on Sherman, despite 2 double moves and the fact that OBJ is straight line faster. Sherman is a beast..
What I find interesting is that on a lot of those passes in the highlight, Eli is getting hit as he's throwing the ball. It makes me wonder how much more often OBJ would have gotten open if Eli had just slightly better pass protection.
Yes the # of times Eli is hit just after he releases the ball is not a good indication of the OL. At the same time, it's cool to note how nimble and adept Eli is at moving around within the pocket to gain time and the best throwing lanes.
He honestly has gotten better in his last two years within MacAdoo's system.
My only small gripe (unless I missed it) is where's the TD against Josh Norman? I really wish that one made the cut. Guess he had too many highlights to choose from.

I'm pretty sure a TD vs the Panthers is in there..
But as for OBJ vs Norman specifically, I look forward to seeing that with Norman in a Skins uni this coming year.
and the color commentator for the Falcons game is fantastic. He gets your adrenaline in over gear.
I forgot his name though, he use to be a sideline reporter for the Mets, several years back. He's going to have one helluva career doing football games..
I think, he can very well turn....into one of the best..
A) You don't know much about Giants' history. Re Homer Jones or Ron Johnson...
B) You forget too soon what Nicks and Cruz and Mario did in the playoffs just a few years ago.
So far as "no one even being close" goes.
But OBJ is the best ever Giants WR already, pretty much.
OBJ kills the entire NFL, but the fact that he kills Wash, Dallas and Philly so regularly is what makes me so happy. Fans of those teams must be so envious. I know Dallas fans will think Dez is the better WR but if they really watch football they know deep in their hearts that they'd rather have OBJ.
Thanks for sharing, and agree - it's so much better to hear the original sound than some of the music that gets played.

Not a young dude. An old dude who watched Homer Jones. Homer was great but this OBJ kid is a phenom. Ron Johnson was no OBJ. Johnson had 1 1000 yard season with the Giants and he hit it on the nose. Yes that was 14 games and I loved the guy, but kids like OBJ don't come around very often and I've never seen one on the Giants.
I objected to the term "not even close" because of those two in particular...
But agree OBJ is the best skills player I've seen as a Giant, and perhaps one of the best ever for any club.
Not quite ready to grant him LT status even if we do call him by his initials. Having Eli toss him the rock helps a bit too. Ron Johnson IIRC had damn near zero help.
You know I have your back on that, John. But maybe he's done, physically? We'll see if he announces himself physically fit when taining camps start to open.
In traffic, it looks as though he misleads the cornerback by reaching in one direction, only to reposition his hands to the ball at the last second for a less contested catch.
It happens so fast that it may have simply been reflexive adjusting instead of intentional deceit, but I'm not ruling out the latter.

Hopefully this year is different...
LOL.

Also, Eli's passes were almost all perfect for the situation.
It's also nice to watch a video that has the game calls and not music playing.
Few years? Less than a couple considering 27/32.

He's made the last two seasons watchable. Not that I wouldn't watch anyways, but you know what I mean.

We'll that's one. Be nice for a few more to emerge...

I don't see a bad Left Tackle...
Maybe I'm wrong...
Nobody's close.
Yup. Just amazing, watching that. You think you have it in mind, and then you watch that and realize you forgot just how amazing he is.

I would have liked to keep Beatty at LT with Flowers at rt until Beatty's contract was up, considerably better than Newhouse at RT (Bleech)
Nobody's close.
My Dad saw them all and he said Beckham is the best WR we have ever had, and he LOVED Homer Jones..
Dad said the best overall player he ever saw play was Jim Brown
LT was 2nd

BTW, you have MILLERED my thread buddy.
So how about a comment or 2 on Beckham?
Great combo...
This Team is close...very close to big things
