Agreed. That was a good sleeper movie. I certainly remember “Happy Days,” “Laverne and Shirley,” and “Mork and Mindy.” RIP. God bless.

He was also a decent actor. I liked his work in A League of Their Own.

I loved him in Soapdish. What a cast, him, Downey, Sally Field, Kevin Kline, Elizabeth Shue, Cathy Moriarity, Teri Hatcher, and Woopi (I'm probably missing a few).

Marshall was a riot. "This is the toughest decision I ever have to make, but I get paid 1.2 million dollars to make these kind of command decisions."

Flamingo Kid is a classic from the 80s

It helped put Matt Dillon in a different light, after My Bodyguard, Tex, Outsiders, and Rumblefish.

I have seen almost every movie Garry Marshall directed and enjoyed most of them.

I knew that would be the clip when I saw it was you who posted it. A forgotten hilarious movie.

guest appearances on Murphy Brown as Stan Lansing were always hilarious. Growing up in the 70s and 80s you couldn't watch TV without one of his iconic shows or even the many others that only lasted a season being on some channel. I cut my eye teeth as a couch potato on them. RIP Garry. Thanks for all the years of laughter

RIP to him. He was the main innovator of sticoms as we know it

He was also great as a funny man when he was on one of his many shows.
RIP Garry, you were hysterical

Even in his later years, he made some appearances that were still very damn funny (including some voiceovers in a cartoon that my kids watched). I always had him pegged for much older.

Add me to the list, but it was probably sometime in the 90's when I learned he was her older brother.

I thought he was Dad.

But, I always knew he was a genius, both in front of, and behind, the camera

he gets his due, but in the category of underrated people who get their due, I think he doesn't really get his due.
