OBJ said he "for sure" thinks Norman signed with the Redskins in April so that he could be guaranteed of at least two matchups against OBJ every season. OBJ said he sees it as a "smart business move" on Norman's part and says it will help keep Norman "relevant."
"If I wasn't playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn't bring it up as much," he told GQ. "But now it'll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don't really look for, attention I don't really need. The reason that he's become so relevant is because of me." |
ESPN and NFL Network won't be able to contain themselves with this story, it's going to turn into a huge circus on Redskins weeks.
Yes, I know my handle makes that seem odd.
Think about that a minute, because I'm thinking "fuck yeah!"
I figure those 2 games vs the skins are good for 4 TDs from OBJ next year, pencil it in.
Odell knows he can't stop him so he can say whatever he wants.

Not sure what hes done to make it hard to root for him...he's an emotional guy who needs to keep it in check on the field a bit better. While he'd be better served by not bringing this up, his beef was legit and it's not like he's done anything offensive besides losing his cool....nothing to see here IMO.

THANK YOU!
This place is weird...it's not like OBJ ISN'T better than Josh Norman.....OBJ's gonna torch the guy.

I'd love it if that happens. But what if it doesn't?
I love the guy. Great player. The Giants went 0-2 against Philly last season and he got 12 catches for 115 yards total over 2 games. And they had nobodies at corner.

Always a possibility but he's absolutely owned the Skins so far. 28/364/5 hours n 3 matchups. And call me a homer but I don't think Norman is going to have that much of an impact. First, Beckham is simply better. Anyone watching the Carolina game knows this. Second, Washingtons D isn't Carolinas. I think Norman comes back to earth in a big way this season.

Really hate this argument. The Giants being awful last year has nothing to do with Odell. They had the worst defense I've ever seen

The defense doesn't factor into his personal performance. I was pointing out the fact that he did very little against a bad defense.
Calm down, it's not like he's out there running his mouth like Norman has. In fact he's refused to even discuss Norman or that game until now. If you want choir boys go to church.
He is going to get absolutely dominated by Odell and Dez four times a year. Not to mention Jordan Matthews.
He is a loser and will be exposed.

I don't understand this kind of sanctimonious bullshit. So because of a very small part of him, a game here or there and the odd cocky interview you can't root for the 99% of him that makes him the most electrifying offensive player we possibly have ever had?
But nothing lasts foreever. When he misses a few plays or injuries take a little out of his game, his comments will look really bad...
Just as in Life .. Norman started it and I think there
is a fire Burning OBJ's Belly and Norman is the target .
I think he will back up this talk .
What surprised me was how good Malcom Butler was on him
like white on Rice .

+1
This is pretty much exactly on the money in my opinion.

Hell OBJ may be the most marketable player in the league ever...
You guys really think he isn't being "smart" with how he conducts himself?
Getting suspended one game, because he lost his cool in the previous one, was about the only thing this guy has done wrong. Asides from dropping that huge TD bomb vs Norman that would likely have shut the punk ass's mouth up before he got started.
"What if" OBJ doesn't dominate against Norman? He'll hit the film room and figure out how to whip Norman their next game. This process is part of becoming great...
players talk shit it happens, now he has to back it up, now it is on him..
now having said that he can't go overboard like he did against Carolina, got to keep his emotions in check, talking shit is one thing, going after a player is totally different
Actually, it should say "would have," or "would've."

Lulz, I should have said OBJ has made himself, through his play, his activities on and off the field, even his friggen hairstyle... the most marketable persona in NFL history. 10 cents of genius, maybe.
you said it brother.
He signed with WAS for 1 reason. Money. That is all.
