NFT: A gidie type thread: ways to ruin your career

dep026 : 7/20/2016 9:58 pm
I just saw a man ruin his career, so I thought it could be a good topic.

So how could one ruin their careers.

White hair sell out wasn't noble
Patrick77 : 7/21/2016 8:51 am : link
Unless he gets free wizard school, more regulations, and higher pay for all the new teachers he is just another sellout. Just older, and angrier.

Punchable face guy is thinking about his future, he wanted to be seen as on neither side when the two voldemorts face off. He and old John boring guy know they are defeated and have decided to not actively play the game of thrones for a few years while the world falls apart.
Dont be so quick to write off Voldermart...
BurberryManning : 7/21/2016 9:01 am : link
Polls are tightening and the more that she speaks, the more that the public may sour on his rival. Throw in a third party challenger that may usurp more support from her than him and we have a battle.

Punchable face guy could have maintained his platform while not invading Voldermart's party as a trojan horse of sorts.

Additionally, was there not an oath signed by 17 men and women? Are we to allow social contracts to fall by the wayside simply because Voldermart doesn't fit our cookie-cutter "ideal" of what a nom should look like?
not

I wouldn't write-off Voldemort either...

Bonnie and Clyde don't have any magic left. They're running out of banks. Despite the big bone the G-men threw, the gang is not able to get away from Voldemort.
Another way to potentially ruin

your career is to rickroll and plagiarize a speech you "wrote" for someone to deliver.

seriously? Exactly how many rules for wizards are there? Committing crimes against magic doesn't warrant the blink of an eye at Hogwarts, but plagiarism gets you off the Quidditch team?
This is about as civil as Harry Potter fan fiction discussions get.

He got his feelings hurt because of personal attacks... That's why leadership is a dying art. A leader is able to put aside self for the larger good. There are too many fragile egos in Washington serve themselves and not our country.

FatMan in Charlotte : 7/21/2016 2:09 pm : link
forget that Cruz started the whole flap regarding the wives?

Trump is guilty of a lot of things, but slamming Cruz's wife was the response, not the initial salvo. And then we have to listen to cruz try to be a tough guy in a whiny voice say "Donald, lay off of my wife!"

What a phony and a prick to boot, which seemed like par for the course for the Republican primary this year.
Laughing hard at some today,
Beezer : 7/21/2016 2:12 pm : link
who are saying the guy has principles because he didn't follow the party line.

He's simply another in a long line of narcissists hoping for a win by Trump's opponent so he has an easier road to run again in 4 short years.

Trying to come off like he's above it all REALLY is such garbage.
Oh, and ...

bullseye. It's the typical politics of 'what's good for me." It's the reason for the party implosion. The only problem is that the other party of crooks are at least as bad.

Could be true. However, sticking to the Wife/Daughter threesome as an example (and not trying to get political). You could have Bill Clinton as your boss, and then the threesome with the wife/daughter, well let’s just say is a no-go, even after a six-pack. On the other hand you could have Trump as your boss, and the Melania/Ivanka sandwich would be awful hard to pass on. Just sayin (;0>
Wait, on BBI some names are never to be spoken.

Even the Kentucky Turtle likes her as a person.

Were you that unhappy when she was your Senator? I kinda liked the $20 billion she got for the rebuilding of the World Trade Center and the healthcare and retirement benes she got for First Responders.

I think Punchable Face wanted to blow up Voldermart's show in a big way. Total dick move. Not that I mind.
The show this week and tonight
dep026 : 7/21/2016 4:22 pm : link
is going to be far entertaining than the dog and pony status quo show next week.

You wonder if the queen will be presented with a crown as her husband the court jester is banging the so called indian american.
"The Malfoys" is much better
Moondawg : 7/21/2016 4:27 pm : link
than "Lady Voldemort" and her husband.
Voldemort is impervious to that sort of damage, however...
BurberryManning : 7/21/2016 4:28 pm : link
as he has more or less embodies the meaning of, "no publicity is bad piblicity." For better or for worse, Voldemort's supporters were further galvanized and the ranks probably bolstered by the media endlessly focusing on a guy with a Punchable Face appearing to have slighted him.

While his opponent trots out Lena Dunham, the human Humpty Dumpty, and progresses through what promises to be the traditional snooze fest of a convention, Voldemort's production has left an impression.

please don't cast a ballot for Hogwart's Student Body President. An evil spell has been cast upon you that masks the the cankles and evils of the female Voldemort and her co-Voldemort.

I think very highly of you (well... except for your opposition to removing cat claws). Cats love the freedom of not having claws and I love not having my furniture destroyed. It's a win-win in my book...

Female Voldemort has the lowest "trustworthy" and "honesty" rating of any candidate

Yup
AP in Halfmoon : 7/21/2016 5:23 pm : link
That's likely to happen after the bad guys get 8 years to define you knowing you're going to be the one to beat. Those scandals taken individually are suspect at best. If you say something enough times over 8 years people believe it.

Lady Malfoy has been around for 30 years, and was using the offices of the Ministry of Magic to add to her personal coffers back when her husband was just a provincial ruler of a fiefdom in the southern magical states. There's a very public record (well, aside from that which was sealed away by her friends in the Chamber of Secrets).
Hahaha

ummm, you may have some people mixed up. The guy with the punchable face admitted to breaking it. The other guy won, so there was nothing to break.
