The SB win was great but the win in Green Bay during playoffs was just amazing as well. Eli was just outstanding by then and ready. This I agree with too. When we went to OT I just knew we were going to win and FB and BOOM.
The idea that the Giants win 35 if Armsteads TD is not called back
is one of the more ridiculous things I've ever heard.
Yeah, I agree. Dilfer was good that day. Collins was horrible. We should have tried to run more.
The game would have been closer had Armstead's TD stood. It also had to deflate the psyche of the team. But we didn't have good enough QB play that day.
EA was very clear that he didn't want TC as the HC of the Giants. It is ironic that they will both be entering the ring of honor at the same time.
I think that considering he had already hired him as an assistant and tried but failed to hire him away from BC as the Giants head coach, I don't think EA was as opposed to TCs eventual hire as some make out.

Or was the BC thing Young not EA? Hard for me to remember.
How many times do you see defensive holding called on a DT? And how does Sehorn let Stokely run right passed him? I will always hate the pompous ass Brian Billick and the murderer Ray Lewis.

Yes, Jason Sehorn wasn't his best self that game either. But it was QB Collins who really cost us along with the phantom call.
Ernie on SB 42... wasn't sure Eli would get it done.
"That's the real test of a QB... not if you can lead that drive and win on October 15th, but if you can do it to bring home hardware."
I was more confident in Eli than Ernie was at that point I think.
I was watching with two cock sure Pats' fans that Brady had just won the game for them, and I told them "you shouldn't be so confident. Eli is pretty good at this stuff himself." I think they shit themselves after the Tyree catch...

Actually the only way you had a chance against that raven defense was to spread them out with a pass orientated attack. The Giants would have at least a chance on offense with that attack in my opinion

Accorsi was very clear that Coughlin wasn't his guy when Coughlin was on the hot seat prior to the 2007 playoff run. His tone changed completely after that.

That is the truth but the problem is we really didn't have the personnel talent to beat them that way. But QB Collins cost us that game and any chance with a shit performance. It seemed like our offense was almost "scared" to operate.
Finally, I think the Titans defense of 2000 was better than the Ravens overall. Two of the greatest defenses ever, but Titans won't be remembered since they came in "2nd place" so to speak.

Sgmen, I don't think the offense had any confidence in the game plan. In fact hearing Amani Toomer discuss the game plan, he lays it all out there how upset he was with the direction the coaches decided was best for attacking that raven defense. It almost seems the coaches or at least Fassell was afraid of the ravens, which the players sensed.

Agreed. I recall hearing about how the Giants offensive gameplan wasn't all that for the big game and "fear" was part of the reason.
Denver feared Seattle's defense a few years ago and got whallopped in the first half. A great DL and pressure will beat a great offense more often than not in SB's.
Interesting thought but I don't see it. Ravens defense was just too good.
But I do believe the game is much closer if the phantom Armstead TD isn't called back. That I do believe.

Except he didn't say that. He said if that happened they "had a chance".

As tough as it would have been, I would have run the ball more. I think we turned it over like 5x it was noted in the interview. Collins just sucked.
