Here we go!
-Verrett VS Conley
-Zack Wheeler plans to throw off a mound at Marlins Park in front of Mets brass
-Cubs pitcher Clayton Richard, who underwent thoracic outlet surgery in 2014, believes the procedure will help Matt Harvey. “I felt so much better afterward. It’s really been a new lease on my career,” Richard tells Matt Ehalt in the Record. “Very happy I had it done, because I would honestly probably be done. I couldn’t really throw. … I hope it’s the same for him. That isn’t anything you want to go through.”
-LGM!
Just slap the ball on the ground and Reyes would score. sigh
LOL...
However, I strongly disagree with your methods of evaluating offensive production.
Baseball games are won with runs.
The only meaningful statistic of offense is runs produced (runs scored + RBI - HRs). Nothing else matters.
Billy Beane's anal discharge of metrics was created mainly to evaluate a player's worth, i.e., contract value. It's all horseshit.
Give me a guy with 200 runs produced, he's worth $25Ma year.
That's fine. Some people don't see it. How is this player going to knock in 200 runs if nobody is getting on base in front of him??? Is he going to hit 200 HRs in a season or else he sucks?? RBI's are a team stat. OPS became the gold standard in the 70's long before Bean too. Bill James called it the "Greatest measure of offensive production" in 1977. OPS+ and wRC+ are just slight tweaks on it because park factors, ect. do make a slight difference and we have better technology to inlcude these things in 2016. Watch any nationally broadcasted game and OPS is now included in a hitters line when he comes to bat. Same with reading boxscores these days. We are no longer living in a batting average, RBI world. But to each their own. I'm not telling anyone how to be a fan or enjoy the sport.
Yeah. NP man. :)

Called it! We dont win unless we hit homers
They are, they also contribute even when they're not hitting with defense. A Flores / Loney platoon at 1st isn't so bad if Duda comes back ineffective.
This one wasn't on him as much - if Cespedes catches that ball it's a different inning.
