NFT: San Fran @ NYY Bumgardner vs Tanaka

superspynyg : 7/22/2016 11:25 am
The Yanks are 4-3 since the allstar break. We took 3 of 4 from the O's. Now the Giants who have lost 5 in a row (have not won since the break).

Several rumors that the Yanks have thought about releasing or trying to trade Tex and Arod. Toronto scouted CC. Looks like if we are sellers we will not get Schwarber since Cubs traded for a rp.

Post lineup here!!!
Mike Montgomery

most certainly does not mean the Cubs are out of the market for an 8th or 9th inning arm.
Why is Gardner a bum?

no, but they may not be desperate to give up Schwarber.
Yanks just won four

lost yesterday, now it's time to lose three. Do it.
Who In Their Right Mind...
looie : 7/22/2016 6:17 pm : link
...would trade for a 40-year old DH earning $25M/year and barely hitting .200? ARod's like your fat relative who eats all your food and won't leave. Put us all out of our misery: eat the salary and release him.
How do

How do you rest your best hitter against lefties???? how is Torreyes a better option over Didi against one of the leagues best lefties!??
A lead

Against Madbum with your ace going, with the way the Giants have played this game might be over
Yanks are hitting bumgarner

Missed a chance to score 2-3 more in the 1st
I would not trade Beltran
JPinstripes : 7/22/2016 8:20 pm : link
he is playing MVP type baseball this year and would look to QO and/or sign him for 1 year to DH next year.

DFA AROD...
Tanaka-san!!
bigbluehoya : 7/22/2016 8:32 pm : link
Really walking the tightrope tonight.
Tanaka not sharp but impressive job dialing it up to 95

What are your expectations for this team if they keep Beltran? If it's not winning the WS, then there is zero reason to keep him if you can get future parts. Winning 83 games does nothing to help this teams future. And they aren't winning a championship with or without Beltran next season.
I would rather win 83
JPinstripes : 7/22/2016 8:43 pm : link
and have a chance then be a 73 win team. These are the Yankees, they have resources to buy and compete year in and year out and there is no guarantee the young players develop and contribute as expected for a lot of reasons - see Bird, Kap, Severino and Clarkin.

So you're passing judgement on Bird,mSeverino, Kap already? Fans like you are exactly what is wrong with this team. Ownership will not ever do the right thing, mand rebuild, mbecause Yankee fans are so damn spoiled and expect a championship every year. This is not the 90's anymore. They can't just throw their money around. It has to start within the system.

I'm glad you're happy to win 83 games. With no hope for the future.

You missed his point and went overboard. He means be competitive and a playoff team. This team can be a playoff team and still rebuild
What I am saying is
JPinstripes : 7/22/2016 9:11 pm : link
prospects don't develop as anticipated on the timeline expected due to a lot of factors including injuries. I am not giving up on any prospects, but that should not preclude the Yankees from trying to field the best team they can year in and year out.

I think Judge and Sanchez are ready to come up and contribute, bring them up and DFA and/or IR Tex and AROD - but keep Beltran and try to win since Judge and Sanchez would be improving the team.
Ok
BigBlueShock : 7/22/2016 9:16 pm : link
Tell me how. I want to hear your plan. You think this team is close to winning a WS? Again, I'm glad you guys are happy with 83 wins and borderline playoffs each year. Ownership certainly notices that many Yankee fans feel this way, that's why we are stuck in mediocrity.

Miller gets squeezed on the 2-2 pitch and the next one is hit to tie it.
And Miller strikes..

was brutal.

Good win - 8 of the last 12 against Cle, Sox, Balt and SF.
I'm nervous...this suggests to me that we won't be sellers at

the deadline. A bad decision, imo.

Spot on shock, Great post .
It's not that we don't have an outside shot at the WC or.the division.
Dunedin81 : 7/23/2016 8:32 am : link
We do. Other teams are hitting the skids. But it is still unlikely, and if we go into August 'going for it' with Mark fucking Teixeira and his sub .600 OPS batting in the middle of our lineup and A-Rod still on the roster it's a virtual impossibility. You clearly don't buy for a (maybe) 10% chance at the postseason. You can look at some sort of limited firesale and hope to still compete, but even Hal and Randy Levine aren't dumb enough to sell off future pieces to move the needle by a percentage point.
