Cruz 2012 highlights. - ( New Window )
Chances are he will never be like that again

I am hoping that he is able to stay healthy and contribute as a 2nd or 3rd wr. If he can get 600 yards with 5-8 tds I will be happy.
The 2012 season was forever ago

IMO.. we will be lucky to get 80% of what Cruz once was.

I hope he does otherwise and comes back better than he ever was..
He's back!

Get ready.
Not expecting 2011

But any chance we get this excellent version?

BTW, what happened in 2013 and part of 2014? Did the rest of the team drag him down?
Disregarding his injuries the past 2 years

His 2013 season saw a drop in his performance for several reasons. Ironic it happened after his big contract. Coughlin on occasion questioned his focus and even though he has been working hard to get over his injuries I see him at best a 3rd WR with a 50 catch/800 yards/5 TD's type of year if he even makes it through or does not get beat out. His injuries, age and time lapsed are all against him.

Can you elaborate?
I'm staying optimistic: Cruz comes back strong
SGMen : 7/24/2016 3:44 pm : link
21 months to heal. 11 months for the calf.

Cruz turns 30 in November, so he isn't "old" or anything. He worked as hard as anyone to overcome his injuries I'm taking it on faith that he has fully recovered and will have a solid season. I don't think we'll necessarily see 2012 like stats but I'll take 70-800-6 type numbers as the #2 / #3 guy.

No one should BET he'll be back strong and effective. We won't know that until the games begin. We'll know a lot in the pre-season games but we'll know even more when he lines up vs Dallas and tried to beat say CB Scandrick in the slot.

It would be a mini miracle if he went 80-1000-6 and totally upgrade our offense to nearly unstoppable but must admit even I have hard time believing that can happen. When healthy in 2014, his projected 16 game totals were something like 61-900-7 which ain't bad but not quite what he'd produced in the past.
There is at least some chance

There is at least some chance of having an absolutely amazing offense. Three potential game breakers in the offense at wide receiver should really help a substandard running offense and our defense should be much improved in the DL at CB and potentially at S.

We have to hope that RB isn't an issue. I think we have enough bodies and diversity of talent to be solid but no experienced game-breaker.

RB Perkins needs to be worked in little by little so that by the last quarter of the season he is clearly "the man" at RB. He has speed and he can catch.

Right now, you have to hope R. Jennings has one more year left in his 31 year old legs. And 31 is considered "ancient" for a running back.

Will RB A. Williams finally put it together with a true FB in front of him and improved OL and TE blocking? I hope so. It would be great if he so impressed in camp that Jennings was relegated to 10 carries a game. We need the youth to step up, both Williams and Perkins in particular.

This offense could be really special if we run effectively and I believe we'll definitely be better than last year.

Why do you do this to me bluelou
Tuckrule : 7/24/2016 7:28 pm : link
I cannot wait for this season to begin. If Cruz can come back to anywhere near what he was this offense has the chance to rival some of the best offenses to ever play. I know the offensive line is weak but has arod ever had a dominant offensive line in Green Bay? I wager he hasn't. I think, and expect, this Giants offense to rank very high. Anything short of top 5-7 is a bust imo

You know why brother, because I believe VC is coming back for a very respectable year. Something along the lines of 70/1000/8.. And with Cruz replacing Randle, and Shepard contributing seriously too as the 3rd WR à la Mario Manningham with 50/700/6 I think our top 3 WR will generate over 3k yards of offense and about 30 TDs.

When I see you posting here, I get a smile and feel good because I figure that's a sign things are going well for your family, my friend. Prayers always.
SGMen I think those number's

Are what we could expect and if anyone could come all the
way back it's Victor Cruz ..
With OBJ and Sheppard to create mismatches Cruz doesn't
have to be "The Guy " just a part of a 3 headed monster who
all have great hands and are great route runners ..
Blue Lou Nice Post it seems like an eternity ago but it
just makes the What If something to salivate over .
What a great year he had

2012 is when this team lost its positive MOJO and injuries ravaged the team. From mid 2012 thru last year, we had more man games lost to injury than any other NFL team. We led the NFL in injuries 2 years in a row which is unheard of. We also didn't draft very well though I do believe our 2014-2016 classes are much improved compared to 2008-2013.
