NFT: FanDuel vs. DraftKings

Nick in LA : 7/25/2016 12:51 am
I am sure it has been touched on in the past but I am looking at getting into daily fantasy sports and wanted some insight in to which is the better option. Looking at signing up with a couple hundred $$.
I'm pretty sure they both rip you off

I saw something where DraftKings (and I'm sure Fan Duel does the same) where bots generate teams, either as the games are happening, or beforehand. There are real winners, for sure...I've won, but nothing close to what I put in.

Having said all of that, I still enjoy it. I just don't put a lot of money in, knowing I'll lose it all. It certainly beats the fantasy leagues I was a part of. Those leagues are all drama - always a guy screaming foul to the Commissioner. There have actually been family fights.....not worth it.....every year my nephews and brother-in-laws try to pull me back in, and i always say "no"

I feel that Yahoo Daily Fantasy is probably the one that rips you off less than the other 2....have a look see...

Does a money back guarantee pretty sure while others do not. Read up on it.
There's also no bots

On either site. Because someone said it, doesn't make it true. These sites are not only regulated, but require verification to play.
Anyone who plays should at least read this.

Take what you want from it.

The misconception of the industry kind of sucks. Users are now marked by a tag that says if they are not experienced, experienced, or highly experienced.

Just skimming through that article, this guy says people submit "thousands of entries" each, but that's not possible. The limit per SLATE is 250 entries. That means that across all games for a start time, you can only enter 250. However, some contests limit users to a certain number of entries. So some contests will have single entry only per person, 10 entry max, 30 entry max, etc.

Now the fact this guy got sucked in and had a problem gambling, is completely believable. You obviously have to be able to play responsibly.
I prefer FD...

ive just liked their interface better. I have had accounts on both for years, but almost never use my draftkings one. I also dont like the two pitchers required on Draftkings. Draftkings does do golf though if that interests you.
I used to use FanDuel

until they started requiring my SSN to withdraw my money. I let $200 rot on there - no random company is getting my SSN.
They need your SS# if you win money for tax purposes.

I understand what you are saying though.

I played on FandDuel and won a lot of money. The next year was when employees from Draft Kings were taking information from DK and applying it to FD. The break even point on the games jumped up drastically. Sometimes scoring like 130-150 wpuld be breaking even. Then it became like 180 or some shit. I don't remember the exact numbers but it was a significant jump. I am not just talking about the big pot games. I am talking about just the double up games that a are smaller. It is a scam now, imo, and I refuse to play.
It isn't a scam...

you just have had people with more intelligence playing, but it isn't cheating like the online poker world saw.

I prefer DK, but both sites are pretty easy to make $$ at the lower buy-in levels.

DK has a better interface IMO and it is slightly easier to win.
I use Draftkings exclusively

I primarily play football and golf. I've had some big weeks and I have had some down weeks. There are sharks who max enter but if you have the bankroll to do it, then so be it. My wife has even gotten into it and has done really well with golf.

I'll continue to play as long as I have more winning weeks than not.

I used draft kings. I had no problems. It was a fun little hobby for me (baseball and football)
It is not a scam

There are a lot of people putting a lot of time and effort into playing it daily though, so don't go in expecting to win consistently unless you are planning to do the same. Especially on the every day sports like baseball/basketball.

Stick to single entry tournaments and single entry 50/50s with higher total entries. You won't win a million dollars that way, but you weren't going to anyway.

Personally, I'm going to be keeping my DFS play to football from now on. I already do enough research for my season long leagues and can spread the extra time to look at salaries over the course of a week instead of having to do it every day.

I think both are still banned, I enjoyed draft kings more because the scoring is better
