After nearly 19 years, including 15 covering the Giants, this Friday will be my last day at the New York Daily News. ...

Starting Monday I'll begin my next adventure as the new NFL Insider for @SNYtv. Stay tuned for many more details on that in the days ahead.
Stay tuned as I manufacture controversies from nothing
It's pretty clear that the day of newspapers being the main source of news is all but over. Been coming for several years now.
The NY Times has a plan to be completely digital within 5 years, and I'm sure many of the others will follow suit.
Yup - and with so much more variety out there with respect to media, it's no longer necessary to rely on some of the same old mediocre hacks like at the Daily News anymore. Other writers are working harder and writing better stories
did what he was paid to do. It pissed me off sometimes, but if you look at the beat writers for the NYDN, they all have a common theme, being shit stirrers. I blame that on the paper more than I do the writers when basically all of them do it.
surprised at all the vitriol. He was a solid beat guy for my entire adult life as a Giants fan. Sometimes he was frustrating, other times insightful. Never a bad journalist. I wish him well.

I disagree. He was OK at best. Every now and then he had something decent, but he also put out a lot of shit.
Vacchiano has never broken any Giants news and is a fountain of punditry. For an "insider" his information is opinion only. His departure is good news for the Daily News...
I don't feel he ever added anything to the beat and he was terrible when it came the cap. He was also lucky that Brandon Jacobs didn't tear his face off. He has another beat writer to thank for that

Lmao. NFL insider? I feel like he doesn't even have the pulse of the team he covers.
This made me laugh. This guy doesn't bring anything to the table

I have spent time on the golf course with him and respect the guy and his intellect enormously
Sad, but inevitable I guess...
Bama -- he has the ability to be a great reporter -- the Daily News requires that he writes a certain way
The NYDN has other writers who lack more credibility,
than he did.
He is not in the same stratosphere as that prick Graziano. So glad he is far away from this team's coverage.
LOL!
