Plus they do pose safety hazards. I was at a family camp out a few years back, where we were using one to cook veggies. The lid wasn't on tight enough and when my nephew picked-up the pot, the lid popped sending boiling water all over him. It was a long painful recovery for him.
^^^Simply need to know how to use them
I am on my second one and has a lot more options with a slow cooker/ hold temp option works great. I do a lot of chili and stews in the winter time. And use the simmer option to make a lot of my stocks that I chill and freeze for future use.
Granted they can be dangerous if you do not know what the heck you’re doing but it’s not that difficult to learn. I use electric for the options but even a stove top works great.
are great if you know how to use them. And they are NOT hard to use. Superior to slow cookers for a number of reasons (google it). They don't "overcook" things because the idea is, for my purposes, to achieve a braise in an expedited timeframe. No one should be using a pressure cooker to made a medium rare steak.
Also the wife loves how quickly they can do a perfect artichoke in 10-12 minutes. It's a good tool to have in your bag.

The MIL got me one for Xmas last year. I love it and I've used it a ton. It's
great for weeknight meals. It can make tender chicken thighs in a manner of minutes. There is a safety feature on mine (not electric) but it still scares the shit out of me every time I use it.
a couple months ago after a friend reccommended it and i love it!! Im actually making ribs in it tonight. 15 mins in the instant pot and 5 mins under the broiler and the ribs are perfect. Have done a lot of other stuff in it and its amazing. Easy to use, easy to clean and a very active facebook community with a ton of recipes.
is a little pricy but it does a lot. The one i have is a 6 in 1. Pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, saute, soup maker and theres a more expensive one that also makes yogurt.

I'd ask you kindly to stay out of my personal affairs.
