“My hand feels great,” Pierre-Paul said, via ESPN.com. “No complaining, no nothing. I’ve been training hard, been getting after it and getting ready to play some football. The club isn’t going to be an issue or anything. My right hand feels like my left hand. I don’t have to prove anything. It’s free will. I know I don’t need nothing to go out there to protect myself. I feel comfortable in using my hand and striking with it and hitting with it. I’m very excited to show people, ‘Hey, nothing has changed.

I'll bet you 1,000,000 internet dollars he has more than 3 sacks
UCONN - this is what you initially said:
Quote:
he's exceeded all expectations thus far and should be much improved from last year. He's been proving every non-believer wrong thus far, I don't see that really stopping.
What expectations? That he'd see the field and play again?
The expectations of a player who has 2.5 fingers?
My point isn't that he's going to suck. It is:
a) He's not going to be as good as he was - which was one of the best DE's in the game
b) If he's working so hard now, why did it take losing a couple digits to have that happen - and all that hard work is going to serve to make him an adequate player at best
I mean ron mexico is saying people shouldn't assume he's going to be limited because he lost the club?? What kind of take is that? The guy lost 2.5 fingers. Assuming he'll never be as good as he was is probably the easiest assumption to make. But you keep trying to slant the argument into black and white - it isn't that. Nobody is saying he's going to be useless. You know what I think he'll be?
An adequate player who will get some pressures and a few sacks, but a guy who would've been a whole lot more productive with an entire hand.
Yes and I'll say it for the 3rd time. Most here and in general didn't think he'd play again, is that not exceeding an expectation when he did in fact do that. He didn't just stand around on the field, he played and at times played well.
He likely won't be as good as 2011 JPP but I don't think anyone expects that. We expect him to be a good player again. As for why he's working hard, I'm not even going to go down that road and not sure why you asked. It's also irrelevant to this conversation.
