My sons ages 7 and 12 want to hit up a water park tomorrow and I'm trying to figure out which they might enjoy more.
Per Yelp, Mountain Creek (Action Park) seems to get better reviews for cleanliness and rides, but in looking at the sites it seems that Hurricane Harbor might be bigger and have more variety.
I haven't been to Action Park in decades (and that's a good thing, at least for the skin that was grafted the first time around). I'm guessing it's nothing like the old park, so I have no baseline.
Anyone been to both and have an opinion to share? While personally hating the shit out of these types of germfests, that's what they want to do. I want to be sure they have fun, but also want to keep the 7 year old occupied.
1. Much safer than what I recall in the 80s.
2. Lot of walking up hills since the rides are on mountains.
3. Very clean.
4. Food in the park blows but you have no choice since you can't bring food in (only water).
5. Definitely bring swimming shoes because walking barefoot on the walkways will hurt like hell if its sunny. Seriously.
6. Buy tickets online...I was surprised at the cost. You also get free parking with a purchase online.
7. Make sure both of your kids meet the height requirement. I think it was 48".
