I am drafting #1 in a 12 team, PPR, with a Flex. Which of the following would rather have with your first 3 picks:

Option A:
Antonio Brown
Brandin Cooks
Julian Edelman

Option B:
Antonio Brown
Brandin Cooks
LeSean McCoy
Neither
robbieballs2003 : 7/29/2016 10:17 am : link
I like Brown. I am not crazy about the other choices. Edelman is a stud when he plays but with him getting older and more banged up I think he is a risky pick. McCoy is a bum and always banged up. I like Cooks but they have more weapon this year and from my experience in the past the Saints players will usually have some huge games followed by some horrendous ones. I do not like that inconsistentcy. I would probably draft Landry over him. What site do you use because that will change how players are ranked?

Edelman - no Brady for 4 games likely hurts his numbers.

McCoy - Karlos Williams looked good last year and figures to get a decent share of touches again (including goalline?). They also like this years 5th round pick.
Yahoo...

I should have added other players in there who I have contemplated as well. From what I have seen, when it comes back around Cooks is always there and then sometimes Keenan Allen. Jarvis Landry is also right there with Edelman on the turn.
It is hard to know who will be available
robbieballs2003 : 7/29/2016 10:28 am : link
So I will give a list in no particular order.

Marshall
Landry
Green
Allen
Nelson
Robinson
Cobb (He was a top 10 WR with Nelson IIRC)

It seems like RB doesn't prevent much value there but I do like Forte this year. He was always considered a 1st round player and I think he is in a better position with the Jets. No reason he should drop as much as he is. Woodhead is also a great PPR RB that you might be able to get in the 4th. Hyde is always banged up but is a true 2 way back in Chip Kelly's offense so that could be great value too. I like him way more than McCoy. I think you could go 3 WRs and have one of these backs drop or go 2 WRs and be better off with any one of these 3 and be better than McCoy.
Oh, another RB that could possibly be available is Ingram.
robbieballs2003 : 7/29/2016 10:31 am : link
If he is there then take him.
Also, any chance you trade your pick?
robbieballs2003 : 7/29/2016 10:36 am : link
I love Beckham this year. He finally gets help. He can have a monster year. If you can flip the first and second pick and get a little extra that would be nice. Also, you can see that there is more value at WR at your second and third picks. Any chance of trading down a little more and getting David Johnson then taking 2 really good WRs at w and e and then acquiring anothe pick? Just some questions to spark a discussion.
w and e =
robbieballs2003 : 7/29/2016 10:37 am : link
2nd and 3rd picks.
I am just brainstorming, sorry for the hundred posts.
robbieballs2003 : 7/29/2016 10:39 am : link
If you traded down with the 4th pick what could you get in return? You are still guaranteed one of Brown, Beckham, Gurley, and David Johnson. I think it is at least worth inquiring about.

Was going to mention him as well, though that might be a little early for him. IIRC, he was a top 5 RB (at least in my 0.5 pt/ppr league) before getting hurt last year. And he didn't really have any monster 3 TD games to inflate his numbers. He was just incredibly consistent and only had 1 game with <10 points.
growing more and more frustrated with my FF league
djm : 7/29/2016 10:41 am : link
been in this league since 1998 but it's tiring to see the commish change shit up every other year without taking a vote and all but ignoring any requests to change things up. I emailed him a month ago to consider changing the awful waiver process in the league and he ignored it as usual. Not only is there very little chatter or communications in this league but there is virtually no open minded policy regarding rule changes. It's basically his way or the highway. To make matter worse some of the rule changes were downright horrible and wrecked the credibility of the league some years.

Hard to fathom dropping out after close to 20 years but I just might. I'd only be left with the BBI keeper league.

I would have left that league then. In 3 of my leagues we take rule change proposals from owners at the end of the season and then we bring them to a vote for all owners during the NFL playoffs. The commissioner's job isn't to make up rules. Can you imaging Goodell having that power in the NFL? It would be run into the game. The owners meet and discuss it and vote on it. Why should your league be any different. Sounds like your commissioner is on a power trip.
Run into the game

Run into the ground.
yeah
djm : 7/29/2016 10:54 am : link
it's just such a special league for me. I've known most of the guys in the league for 30 years and it's just so familiar. I can't fathom not being in it anymore but the commish just isn't picking up my frustration so I may have to raise the volume just a bit.

ONe year he raised the DST scoring right at the day of the draft and while some understood that the scoring would skyrocket thus increasing the value of DSTs no one really appreciate the increase in scoring. Actually I did, and drafted accordingly but it was insane. DSTs were averaging 30-40 pts per week. NExt season he did away with it but no votes.
I get what you are saying.
robbieballs2003 : 7/29/2016 11:01 am : link
I am in a league with some friends from college but they feel like they have to make changes every year right before the draft and the rule is only those that show up for the draft in person get to vote. It is so annoying. I keep winning so I am able to adapt. It is like they keep changing the rules to knock me down. I didn't win last year. I outsmarted myself. One owner offered to switch draft picks with me. He was giving me his 1st and 4th and he got my 2nd and 3rd. I had a late second and early third. He had a late 1st and early 4th. I thought it was a no-brainer. I drafted Bell and Anderson. It completely ruined my season. I loved both players because they could both catch at the RB position. Dumb move on my part. But this year I have the first pick so I am primed to make another run.

i'm commish in my league and have been for a while. Everything, and I mean everything from a rule change perspective should be put to a league vote, not a dictatorship. The only thing I have control over is inputting the draft results, making sure people don't add/drop during the playoffs (if they aren't in it) and making sure that full rosters are being fielded weekly.

A commish doesn't mean they can do whatever they want. They are the person that keeps things organized, that's about it.
yup couldn't agree more uconn
djm : 7/29/2016 11:17 am : link
Rob and I are commish in the BBI keeper league and everything goes to a vote if and when needed. Every now n then I need to make a decision that can't go to vote but that's only of the isolated variety. When it comes to rule changes it always comes down to the vote. Shit even if it's a decision I need to make concerning an owner's behavior or some act they did that warrants a ruling I always take the entire league's POV into account....then rule with an iron fist;)

Williams showed up to camp way out of shape and it sounds like Rex wasn't happy. Something to keep an eye on during camp.

Definitely agree with that but they also really like Johnathan Williams although he got arrested for a DUI.

raise awareness to weakness in the league. Usually its participation related. We had a guy last year who drafted Joseph Randle and kept him on his roster for almost 2 months after he was released and never picked up. He had #1 waivers during this time and didn't pick up DeAngelo Williams, and a plethora of other players on a weekly basis. He was of course our last place team but he ruined the integrity of the league. I had to basically call him out, shame him into making some moves and threatened to take over his team for the rest of the year. We then voted on him being kicked out of the league which went through, haha.

I love MCCoy. But I might go with Martin or Allen who was a catch machine last season before his injury.

So, last week I mentioned that I may be swapping my 7th pick for the 2nd in my 12 team PPR league.. the other owner flaked and backed out. So I am staying @ 7.

Would it be crazy to take Lamar Miller there?

I've done a few mocks and 99% of the time Brown, Beckham, Jones, Hopkins, Gurley and Green go top 6. I keep taking Peterson and feel like he's the safest.. but I feel like Miller could have a really big year and like I may regret passing on him. It could also wreck my season if he doesn't quite pan out.

Too risky?
