Well, one poster here referred to him as a "diversity hire," so I won't say you're completely wrong, but I think most of the criticism directed at JR has nothing to do with his race.
Most fans don't see color but Reese has done so much good for this franchise. I am shocked that this guy gets crushed the way he does at times. Some Fans are fucking dumb.

No doubt this is true. And if Reese was whiter than Vanilla ice he'd still be in the cross hairs of many. But the hate for him is still over the top.

Exactly. With the far majority of fans it all comes down to wins and losses. There is likley as many people who perceive the criticism because of race as there are criticism driven by race.

If Reese was not liked, or not given proper credit when the Giants were winning, I'd completely agree. But...he was. To the point the "In Reese We Trust" moniker was started on here.
I actually wanted TC fired after the 2014 season and was willing to give Reese one more season than TC (2015). So, I don't think I'm missing the point. I think people today ALWAYS love to bring race into every little thing that they can to excuse being awful at ones' job. Like...in this case. :)

Maybe not with Young. But remember, he took the team from Herm Edwards to 2 SB wins. EA? I see no difference.

(Beningo) how bout the transition from Coughlin to McAdoo--(Jennings) you don't replace Coughlin --HOF coach but we got the best coach to fill that spot. McAdoo commands the room and you have to possess a respectful voice and definitely does. Commands a room. THe HC now has to manage a different dynamic now that he's not just the OC, he's the HC.
Beningo--team has a chance to be very dynamic or prolific on O. (Jennings) - our commander n chief is Eli--the guy understands EVERYTHING. Not trying to learn the O anymore now trying to master it. Both have been mocked and praised on here. Actually it is funny how development has now shifted to being a GM issue when on other teams it is a coaching staff issue. One of the best things I heard McAdoo say after the draft that it is on the coaches to develop talent.

Any suggestion that Coughlin may not be the best coach of all time is met with fierce opposition.

For the most part fans get on those who don't perform. Race isn't the issue. Fans love strahan, beckham, Bradshaw, Jacobs etc and don't like randle, cc brown, Jerry Reese etc... It's a performance matter and in recent years Reese has done a poor job

I was clearly being facetious. There was a whole thread last week on Coughlin as best Giant HC....and there were posters who got offended at the suggestion Parcells was a better HC.
