-As per Heyman and a bunch of writers, Yankees seem to have issues moving Beltran. Whether this is because of a high price or other reasons, not sure. Beltran could net a draft pick after the offseason if offered arb.
-One reporter saying Nats offered Giolito for Miller straight up....

his 700th homer because they're going to have little else to try to promote to get people in the seats.
Absolutely. It's a pretty part of Virginia anyway, if you can detour to the smokehouse in Galax it's worth the trip. They've done a lot with that ballpark too.
Beltran really wouldn't be a bad guy to have around if they're breaking in a bunch of young guys, so, worst-case, they extend QO and he takes it, they'd pay ARod to play golf... MLB Team Stats - 2016 - ( New Window )
They're unwatchable NOW. Trading him would not make any difference.
I'm sorry, you all thought I was crazy but I totally called it that Nunez would put up an AllStar season. I'm sorry but I just need to say it, yes it's NYK and shh please. I'm grown now. Peace

So the dumbass admits he's a dupe. Still as intelligent as ever.
Lol go play in traffic
Exactly!
Just gotta hope they get something for Beltran and Nova at least.
I know a lot will disagree with me. However, I rather have Romine in there over MCCann. I have more faith when we need a sacrifice fly Romne will get it done. For what they are paying MCCann he is not worth it. McCann these days seems to be a high risk reward hitter. He will either hit the homerun or pop up to the infield when all you need is a sacrifice fly as the Yankees needed last Saturday. Bases loaded and swings at the first pitch and meekly flys out.Cervelli has better numbers than him.

Idk, the Nats have two dynamite starters and a lineup that could catch fire. I would take the Cubs but it wouldn't be that big an upset.
Well that's interesting
Don't think this means much considering he has a full no trade clause. Only way it means something is if a deal is already worked out and he's agreeable to it. I wonder if he does want to go back to Atlanta. But I can't see them offering that much.
Well, they are going against a lefty. We all know how binders likes to play the matchups

Certainly a possibility. Hal needs to okay eating $. If he wants to get under $189 he could be creative with how he eats it. Eat everything this year, eat nothing next year and a lot of 2018, they could figure it out.
He is the 2 nod highest paid catcher in MLB . You don't think he has been a disappointment .
[quote] Your little vendetta against McCann is utterly ridiculous and makes you sound like a Randal-grade moron. [/quote
Just because you disagree with me you don,t need to call me a moron

You'd get a better grip on his value if you compared him to other MLB catchers. Simply put he's one of the best. He's helped hold this shaky Yankee pitching staff together since he signed here 3 years ago. And he hits. Even if he hits like shit for his standards he's got more pop than most catchers. Don't compare McCann to a 2000 version of mike piazza.

Why the hell do fans base their opinions on production on what a player makes? It makes no sense. That's for the team to care about, not the fans. The only thing we should be comparing is McCanns productivity against the other catchers in the league. And he's upper echelon. Who gives a rats ass what he makes? If there was a salary cap, MAYBE I could see why fans would care, but there is not in baseball.
Pro sports should be an escape. If I want to worry about money I'll ask my wife how the bank account looks these days.
I wish they'd apply some kind of hippa law to pro salaries. We'd all be better off.
And no I'm not disappointed in McCann. Could he do better of course but he's a damn good catcher.
And with our incredible 4 hits tonight, I'm SO ready to dump as many of the older guys as we can, particularly guys at positions where there are players waiting in the wings, as Sanchez is with McCann.
Oh man, what timing for KC. Couldn't be any worse, lol. For us, it's great! Hate to see any player go through this though.
It's not one guy, it's the entire payroll. Did we go for Moncada? Nope. Did we go all in on INT FAs at that time? Nope (although we finally did two years ago). Did we try to get below $189M? So yeah, seriously...of course he AND the other big ticket players influence what we spend in other areas.
For both the Rangers might be willing cough up Profar and a couple of prospects.

It's July 30 and Josh Bell was removed from tonight's game in Indy: http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gid=2016_07_30_noraaa_indaaa_1&t=g_box&did=milb&sid=t484 . Have fun, Twitter.
