It's a solid signing

get a veteran in here for more depth. Watching the Giants field guys who didn't belong in the NFL last year trying to cover people was awful.

Hopefully they stay healthy

We really nailed it on defense in FA. All we need on a D is a 3 down linebacker.

Cincy got a Hall pass.

It allows them to bring along Apple at their own speed. And, if they choose, they can potentially stash Dottino's "guy" (CB from Boise State) on the practice squad...

Sam Madison/Dion Grant style veteran DB for another playoff run.

If he does, CB has become a position of depth.

we know in todays NFL your CBs get dinged up and you need to put out 4-5 legit CB..

What a massive improvement over last year.
DB and the DL have been completely overhauled. Spags has all he needs.

This defense is starting to remind me of the D's from the last 2 SB's. Strong DLines, very good DBs, and functional LB's.

Last year's CB crop was Prince, DRC, Hosley, Wade, McBride

Now it has Jenkins, DRC, Hall, Apple...

Huge upgrade over Trevin Wade. Should make Eli Apples transition easier. He'll now most likely go against 4th WR instead of 2nd WRs.

I know the back is balky, but if he holds up that's probably the best bang for the buck you're going to get in this FA market.

Agreed this is huge for Eli Apple. Instead of having to play him out of position u can give him a slow learning year spelling JJ and DRC. great move, u couldn't've justified playing Wade over Apple, anywhere

assistant to the NFL director of operations must be shaking his head yet again when he hears this news. So went the days when the latest acquisition was named Mike Harris or Chiquie Brown. Unlike quite a few of the veteran Giants on the current roster, Hall has been on teams that win ball games. He's a zone-oriented corner, which makes him a nice complement to the other three who are basically man covers. The DC likes to camouflage his Three-Deep and make believe he is in 2 and vice versa so Leon's dexterity and overall brightness will be a welcome addition.

Colts CB at the start of the season? I remember he was rated pretty well on PFF for being a 3rd or 4th CB. Does someone move to safety now?

on top of him being a great slot corner, is that we face the NFC north this year. He can provide tips for all offenses and cincy defense.

I'm reminded of the Kenrick Ellis signing last year-- everybody was amped about the guy, but the contract was shockingly inexpensive, and he happened to have a lot less to contribute than we all expected (and didn't even end up making the team).
