Who Else Really Hopes Victor Cruz Comes Back?

gidiefor : Mod : 8/18/2016 9:56 am
It's hard to come to grips with the continuing sequence of Victor Cruz rehabbing and having setbacks, and the odds are against his return. But I can't help hoping that Victor will make a comeback and that we see him dance the Salsa in the end zone during the season again!

A better question would be.. does anyone not want Victor Cruz back? Because I don't think anyone would say yes. We all want to see #80 on the field again.

I think some fans are frustrated and a lot are over the top in criticizing or blaming him as if he's doing this on purpose. But I'm pretty sure that every Giant fan is hoping he comes back.
I think everyone hopes that he could, but the reality is that until
Victor in CT : 8/18/2016 10:15 am : link
we see him actually play in a game, we don't know what he has left. He has to get in the preseason games and show something.

I don't see any point in IRing him. It would then be THREE full years without playing. Either he makes the team because he can still play or they should cut him.
I love what he did for us
mavric : 8/18/2016 10:22 am : link
But, if he isn't the player he was a few years ago, I hope the Giants move on and give the new kids a chance to prove themselves.

As a fan, I've gotten impatient with injuries and players who are not giving their all, both mentally and physically (Reuben Randle, Damontre Moore, etc.)

IMO, Cruz must come out in a pre-season game and make some catches and prove he's a threat. If he misses all the pre-season games and is used sparingly in real games, then for me it's time to cut the cord. He must play up to the ability demanded by his salary. Otherwise, give the newbies a shot.
those opposed: area junk?
giants#1 : 8/18/2016 10:27 am : link
I think he'd be happy to see Cruz stop milking the Giants.

I'm guessing our resident Dallas fan, fanatic, is also scared of a Cruz comeback.

...who doesn't? He was a dynamic offensive threat for us and a favorite. It's a cruel sport both to the player and the fan.
I am very positive regarding the Front Office, Coaches making

the right decision regarding WR Victor Cruz and his football future.

I really hope and pray he makes it back to 95% of what he at least was in 2014 before he tore his knee. If you study his body of work from 2013 to current it has NOT been impressive due to injury mostly but there has also been a drop in performance statistics when he has played. There are many factors that go into this so I'm not going to get too worried about it, his groin or his track record just yet.

Before the season started, I said if Victor Cruz can be a 70-850-7 type guy mixing it up as the #2,#3 slot wideout and help the young guys develop we'd have a top 3 offense (assuming overall health) this year. The sky would be the limit. I still think that and am praying he bounces back to give us great performance.
Everyone.

Why wouldn't anyone want to see Victor come back?
I really wish he could it would be of bonus to the offense
micky : 8/18/2016 10:52 am : link
But, I'm accepting that he may be done considering the constant set backs and the outcomes of those kinds of injuries

this is the strangest, most incomprehensible thread title I've seen here in a long time. It's a given, that we ALL want him back.
He has a slight groin injury
NYG007 : 8/18/2016 11:11 am : link
Which I am not buying. We all want him back, but 2 years of not being able to practice or play? Very small odds he can come back at all, or stay healthy for any extended period of time. The Giants did the wait as long as we could approach last year. I honestly do not think if he cant practice and play fully in pre season games 3 & 4, then whats the point of temp IR? Nothing will change over 8-10 weeks that is not changing now. He'll start straight drills, wait on side to side, cuts, etc. Same thing as the last 2 years

I am smiling for him to make it back, 99.9% of us are, but reality is we need to focus on Davis and another WR as our 3rd option.
All we can do is wait and see
TyFromQueens : 8/18/2016 11:11 am : link
I guess we haven't learned from last seasons issues with JPP.

How many Giant fans wanted him to be cut immediately?

Give Cruz a chance. Shucks,Reese and Coach Mac damn sure are doing so.

Last year around this time everyone wanted JPP off the team. Now look how that tune has changed.

Let's hope the same thing happens with Cruz. We need him back.

at this point. Whatever happens to these guys individually, happens. Just want the Giants to win. Don't really care for the players individually anymore like I used to.

Patience required. Team has no clear #3 WR. Groin injury is common. VC value to team worth wait. See JPP last year. Training staff and VC dealing one day at a time. Smart approach. Will JR/BM save roster spot if VC can't go in preseason? My expectation at start of training camp was that he would be ready for rotation after bye week. Jeremy Davis leading candidate as #3 but does he have chemistry with Eli? Harris best value on specials only in my view.

Anita Marks said she predicts Victor Cruz will get cut, the posters that responded said if he doesn't show anything in camp then we should move on. That doesn't mean anyone wants him gone.

guaranteed this year - somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 1/2 mil.

that buys him a bit of leeway.

that's about what they saved in reworking his contract. At the time, I thought that meant the docs/training staff were convinced he was likely to be a go. that's the only way the contract made any sense. but they've been giving him the kid glove treatment, and now his latest snafu.

If he doesn't

Will put him on injured reserve . I base that on the fact he Has a guaranteed contract. That's my gut feeling. I really don't believe he plays in the first 8 games.

As for Giants2012, I don't recall addressing you at all today. Usually when I do address you, it's because you posted something so patently stupid it deserves to get called out on. It's a special brand of stupid that only you can bring to the table.

It's kind of odd that you have this fixation with a poster that's thousands of miles away from you. Don't worry, you'll think of me much less when you actually get with a woman for once.
David, I get what you were aiming for...
