Yes, they have an app. You can stream if you subscribe to NFL Network on your cable/sat company. Need to use your login.
That rightside is going to be something else this season.
Been saying it for weeks: the trio of Flowers, Jerry, and Newhouse will determine if this is a playoff team or not. So far, there is a lot to be concerned about.
and that's saying something. Jerry needs to make some serious moves to get a few lineman in. These castoff garbage men are just about useless.
If we cannot run the ball, it is going to be a long season. Eli is not going to be able to convert 3rd and long enough times to get this team into the playoffs.
Our blitz package has never been good under Spags.
That was an excellent blitz package. We got one of our fastest players unblocked with a chance of a clean hit. Players gotta make plays. Jenkins didnt.

Not good if it doesn't get home. Don't over analyze, results.
Coverage assignments there. I know. It's only preseason.
Forget assignments, the giants blitzed and got beat, it happens. Partly good play by TT, partly on JJ for being over aggressive with a very athletic qb
Our blitz package has never been good under Spags.
You're not serious are you??
Jenkins blew the angle he took and Robinson had no chance staying with the TE that long! Plus the field is wet and slippery, the players are sliding all over!

Thats fucking horseshit. It was a great call. If Jenkins sacks him, is it stil la bad blitz. Players make plays. Coaches make calls to put them in position to make plays.
If you blame Spags for that call, you really dont know football.

Be careful with the word never especially when it's wrong.
Done here. Argue, argue, argue. All you guys want to do. So tiring.
You're the one with the stupid initial statement. We had a free guy get in the backfield who didnt make the play. Its like saying throwing a 50 yard pass is a bad call because the WR drop the ball.
Still baffles me that there are no RT out there better than
which was somewhat broken, the first team defense has looked AWESOME so far this year. The oline looked better last week but this week without pugh not looking so hot. the run game is bad, but i think perkins will get more carries come mid season, sorry im just not a huge jennings fan. that being said if they give eli time offense will be fine, tye looks to have improved as a receiver. OBJ is a stud. shepard should be solid as well. add in vareen and the offense will score enough to win games
I know it's only preseason but you have to be concerned about our line and lack of rushing attack. Teams will just load up and force the pass. Just looking for improvement each game but it's heading in the wrong direction
I'm trying to remember it's pre-season and maybe they are just trying to get better in the run game. However, the strength of the team is in the passing game. The OL, the receivers, Eli, etc. Their strength is the passing game.
I want to see an aerial display that can setup the run game. Not the other way around. That's not to this team's strength.

2011 giants were dead last in rushing and online was terrible
I would keep this starting Oline in at least till half......they need tons of work. TEs also need to start blocking better. Perhaps LaCosse needs to get a shot.

It's preseason. Play calling will be much more conservative, McAdoo wants the OL to work on their run blocking.

They were a prideful group who came on in the playoffs...this group? With castoffs like Newhouse and Jerry? There is no comparison.
Our strength is the defense. I mean, first teamers have dominated the first two games of play.
The OL doesn't have Pugh inside so that doesn't help. I'm not too worried yet but definitely would like to see some "momentum" via a nice mixed play drive here....
we need an upgrade on OL. so far what ive seen the defense is going to be plenty of good enough to win games, in fact they could maybe win us a game or two. Any chance that the giants make a move for a RT? not saying its just newhouse but clearly the oline is lacking...
and I can't believe I'm even saying that, but Flowers looks like he's regressed and the right side can't run block. TEs are atrocious at blocking, as well. Offensively we could be in for a long year, unless they can somehow figure out a way to get it righted. Is Solari that much of a master?
breathe...its the first time the defense has struggled and it was basically three plays. the defense is gonna be fine. im worried about the OL if anything
a suspect OL, you absolutely must have a good blocking TE.
When you have two OT's that struggle in pass protection, you definitely need a TE that can block and block very well. And oh, we have two OT's that suck in pass protection.
I really thought Erek Flowers would go from "below average pass protector" to "average NFL LT pass protector" but so far, no CIGAR.
Flowers, Hart, and Newhouse all burned. Flowers isnt a LT.
Horseshit personnel on the OL. One elite level player (Richburg), one slightly above average player (Pugh), and 3 fringe level players. Yes, I am including Flowers there. He was awful last year and I have yet to read or see any proof thus far with 3 weeks until week 1 that this year will be any different. Poor OL play and a mediocre D, which is a huge improvement from 2015, smells like 8-8 at best.
Dline is REAL and pretty young! thats a group we need to keep together, they are gonna do big things for us! If we add one solid LBer or get improved play by someone in that group and get the OL some help we would be a formidable opponent!
Just a reminder that this is a 6-10 with lots of room for improvement. Defense really does look better and as always the offense is all about Eli. When he is off it is very poor. There is not run game yet. Long way to go before this team is good but there is hope now when there was none for the past three years.
With close to 20 million left in Salary Cap space is looking like a glaring mistake right now.
To be fair, they tried. There weren't many options. I think we have to try to cultivate what we have more because Newhouse isn't a starting player in this league. He's already proven what he is. Same with Donnell. And Williams. I know it's preseason but it's more of the same.
Offensively, this team is a mess. The line can't block or protect, Flowers has taken a big step backward, our right ends can't block, and Eli can't work under the pressure due to the fact he's constantly harried.
Defensively, some things to fix but this can be a solid crew.
What to do with the offense, that's the problem. Yuck.
I am praying WR Dwayne Harris has negative x-ray on knee
i literally have NO IDEA why the starters are still in...i hold my breathe every snap. all we need is OV or JPP leg getting rolled up on and this season will be a lot harder to watch
so far the shitshow is in the Offense.......total 180 from last year! We need to get it together on offense. Oline is really a big, big issue.
The defense has given up some big plays. We got lucky that collins was able to force that fumble at the goal line but remember how they got down there. We dont get those fumbles every time. The score may be 13-0 but we are lucky it is not 20-0 and other then being able to stop the run, please tell me what we have done well today?
bomb down the sideline on third down. Why? Nice catch by King anyway.
Remember that we were sixth in total offense last year with the same OL IIRC. And Flowers was a rookie playing with a bum ankle. We also have more offensive weapons this year, and an improved defense should give us some short fields.
Too many holes to fill. Flowers starting too look like he is playing out of position. I guess the whole offense will be Beckham again.
All we have on offense right now is Eli and OBJ. That is the reality. Shepard is unproven. We have nothing else. Last year, we did it all due to the Eli to OBJ connection. It is absolutely critical that we run the ball effectively this year.
Just awful. Beaten badly on both sides of the ball.
The run blocking is pathetic, and don't give me any bullshit about good sack totals last year. That is all Eli's magic at avoiding them. If you want to point to one pick that has really fucked us- it is Pugh. Just a terrible player.

Agreed, Pugh sucks today... it's like he's not even there.

Yes, Eli gets the ball out quickly and in this offense it's fine, however, we still need time to throw the ball deeper, as well and the ability to run the ball. Oline has been the biggest concern so far this pre-season, but I don't agree about Pugh being a terrible player. He's not the concern on this Oline at all..

Pugh didn't play today fuckwad
Flowers didn't light the world on fire either and he did play.

Our TEs are brutal blockers and cannot set the edge. It's a huge problem that has been highlighted today.
What a horrible, horrible football team we have here!
Imagine if Eli gets injured! Not sure I'm looking forward to the London game so much if this is anything to go by!
how McAdoo handles all of this, this week. Pretty pitiful display of offensive football. 2nd team D also put in a bad spot due to turnovers, however, they didn't do too much to slow them down either!
You can't tell me with a straight face that Newhouse and Flowers are both better players. You can play (and consistently win) with one weak link (Jerry), but not with 3 starters on the OL who, thus far, look like fringe NFL Offensive Linemen. I hated Flowers over Gurley. No way he was BPA. And then proceeding to bring back the same cast hoping continuity would benefit this group is nothing more than pissing into the wind. Continuity. Yes indeed: they blew ass last year and continue to do so in 2016.
No push. I really think they are not strong enough. Pass protection shows average but our running game is going to be bad again this year. Barry Sanders couldn't run with our line..
don't see how we can keep Donnell. He whiffs on almost every block, and doesn't add enough in the passing game to make up for that fact. I agree with whoever said we should get Adams more playing time.
Flowers and Newhouse were bad. Hart as well, but we have far less invested in him. There are no running lanes.
The first team D looked good, but they need support from the offense.
King had a nice catch, and almost another along the sideline.
Good: Casillas, Collins, entire 1st team DL (dominating against the run), Thompson (whom I wanted to see something from)
Bad: Play calling (unless it's intentional), Eli (just rusty), Newhouse, Flowers, LB's (except for Casillas)
Play calling: Unless they are just trying to get better in the run game I don't understand why they focused on the run. Their strength lies in the passing game. The OL was terrible regardless is at least better at pass pro then the run. Besides that, it doesn't even look like a WCO out there. What happened to the quick throws, the slants, and the 1 screen was a mess of failure.
Still lot's to do but I love seeing that the new 1st team run defense is legit.
Mfsd ... did you tape the game? Don't bother - it is pretty bad. 1 string D had it's moments but, the entire O looked out of sync ... I am wondering how much these "Vanilla" packages add to sloppiness. I doubt they are practicing Vanilla?
Then when the game starts the players are running simple and standard plays but, they have not been worked on during practice? Not sure if that affects the synchronicity of the team?
have underestimated the impact of having a rookie head coach. It doesn't mean we're doomed, but Ben McAdoo is on a learning curve like any other rookie HC. That's bound to be a thing in these early games.
Anyone else already tired of reading/ hearing the sports media's giddy obsession with Harrison's dumb "Snacks"nickname? They just can't get enough of repeating it: "Snacks Snacks Snacks Snacks...." STOP!!!!
have underestimated the impact of having a rookie head coach. It doesn't mean we're doomed, but Ben McAdoo is on a learning curve like any other rookie HC. That's bound to be a thing in these early games.
They spent a lot of money on players for a coach to be allowed a learning curve. I doubt that is the mindset.
not drafting or signing quality OL men is going to make our offense mediocre and wear the defense out. also, nassib has not shown anything since he has been here to support keeping his spot. need to find a better backup QB.
Want to defend him and kill Newhouse, I agree Newhouse sucks, but Flowers stinks, to not know his level and let the left tackle position go is a fucking disgrace. The Offensive Line can ruin this season, and I pray that this coaching staff is competent, because this is a disgrace all over the field, as Coughlin would say, this is just bad football. There is no sugar coating this anymore.
who was a steal because he could have been a first rounder shows me nothing. Don't like his QB IQ. Hate his throwing motion. No pocket presence. Looks like this is his first he ever played . He throws one pass the short seam. If you cut him my guess is that no one will pick him up. He is lower then a JAG
Oline starters and depth have not been good. I see the other teams around the league and they seem to be capable of moving the ball, even with their back up Oline. What seems to be the biggest issue? Is it talent? Scheme? This has been an ongoing issue for a number of years now. It appears that Flaherty wasn't the issue, as the issues remain the same. I think the Oline is perhaps worse!
know I might get pummeled for saying this, but should we look at Beatty?
Honestly? It couldn't hurt. Flowers is not a LT. I'm sorry, but that was the case both in college and in the pros. He's not a LT.
I think last year he might have gotten some free passes because he was a starting LT as a rookie. I mean, he had some moments that could have lead you to think - he may pull this out with work and experience? And, I am not sure that his career at LT is over.
But, so what if they move him to RT? and, he becomes great RT? I am sure everyone would welcome a great RT over an average LT?
Regardless .... More OL help in the immediate future - no matter where they go?
and the O-line needs needed and still needs help
Flowers is starting to worry me we should have spent
The $ on Penn and slid Mr Mean Face over to RT ..
What Ya gonna Do Jerry ......
Is the problem really Nassib or a line that can't block? Eli looked terrible too. It's only pre-season so I'm not about to get fired up but the O-line needs work.
it's not about wins, it's about production and how the practices translate to production on the field. I'm just looking for OVERALL improvement not just the first string defensive line
But I've watched football long enough to know you're never as bad as you look on days like this. Funny, we looked like we were going 12-4 until we had to start playing other teams
Obviously the OLine is a mess ... but Eli knows how to handle a mess of a OLine ... Just remember his first year where Warner was sacked 39 times to Eli's 13 ...
We are showing NOTHING of our offense in preseason ...
I'm sure it will be much better ...
Is the problem really Nassib or a line that can't block? Eli looked terrible too. It's only pre-season so I'm not about to get fired up but the O-line needs work.
with this OL and Eli we will go 8-8. If Eli got hurt with nassib we would not win a game.
What have they been doing in practice? This is a total disgrace, as Papa is saying you can't evaluate RB's, WR's when you have this type of line play....starters and back-ups.
Gurley II would've made something out of nothing at the very least. I wanted him badly over Flowers.
Flowers doesn't look like a LT to me. I think he'd do much better as a RT. I'm just stunned over how many "mistakes" he continues to make with his sets, footwork, angles. Just not good....
I don't know how in the hell you make roster decisions at the skill positions with this O line and QB play! Pre-season or not, this is horrendous. Some of these guys are standing around or just going through the motions long before the whistle blows. Solari needs to start kicking some ass!

That's why I was so averse to taking him. I saw Flowers as strictly a RT. I didn't think and still don't think he has a future at LT. I saw him as only a RT in the mold of Jah Reid. I thought Gurley II had the potential to be another AP.
Giants starting OL is "average" (serviceable).
Giants backup OL is "below average" (hard to watch really....)
TE Larry Donnell can't block. He is a liability and teams will attack him when he is in there.
Giants DL, starting, is top notch.
Giants starting defense will have a GREAT year if they stay healthy.
Giants special team should be solid once again.

this will be the true test for reese and McAdoo to make adjustments in both the roster and coaching/play calling. if things stay basicly the same, we will again hear Mara at years end give his performance of frustration that he wont tolerate this again.
Giants have to get a few new OL, and shuffle some existing players around. At this point, it might be better to play Pugh at LT, although that will not happen.

AND QB NASSIB sucks. I mean he really can't throw to the outside? I'm watching and not believing. Pathetic.
I would say the entire OL today. Wasn't that impress with Richburg today either. Not much of push up the middle for Jennings when he was in there.
Would very interesting if McAdoo does not adjust his practices. Seems like he had very few hard practices and a lot of walkthroughs stuff for these guys.

That's what you got from TODAY?
Yeah, LOL. But you know what, these results are pretty consistent with the camp reports EXCEPT that our offense was worse today than anyone could have imagined. Watching our TE's try to block is just painful. Painful.
Almost all of us believed that the OL needed an upgrade - the Giants tried but lost out on some FAs - the draft seems to have been very good to us but we passed on the OL - Reece acted surprised that anyone would be concerned - we have 3 really really challenged starters - did we loose out because FLOWERS had to be the LT - even the best fantasizers that hoped Jerry Hart Newhouse and Flowers would be average or better all of a sudden - can't be feeling very good - this is scary - an offense with some strong weapons may have trouble against everyone with a strong DL and pass rush - I do not like the way our GM presents himself and the arrogance that comes forward - but I love the Giants more than I want him fired -but if we waste another precious year of Eli and OBJ ---- Reece cannot work here anymore - he will have nobody to blame but himself - personally I hoped he was out with Coach Coughlin - when he fanned on at least one OT I was thinking maybe He knew better - does anyone think this is a reasonable nfl OL? We really have one more preseason game to go before Dallas
-
And you guys were complaining about the run blocking?
Reece acted surprised that anyone would be concerned
-
What are you referring to? Not disputing, just trying to get educated.
I doubt that the Giants thought their line was fine as is. I suspect that after using late picks on OL prospects that didn't pan out, and signing UDFA linemen who showed why they were never drafted, the Giants decided to go a different direction and use late round picks and UDFA slots on prospects they were more confident in. But this is year 1 of a 2-year plan, and year 2 probably entails either more veteran free agent signings, more premium picks on OL, or both.

I am really looking forward to reese and McAdoo's response after this game. will it be excuses and promises of improving or roster moves via trade or signings. status quo is fool's gold.
He was not so good last week, but has redeemed himself here today. Question, however is will the Giants keep more then 4 RBs? If so who goes? Maybe we can make a trade?
I'll look for them but there were quotes from Reece that circulated here in the spring that he was curious or wondering why anyone was surprised about not adding OL
You know what, I had a bit of hope that TE Donnell and a conditional draft pick could be sent to a team for a starting RT, some veteran who has good youngsters behind him and the team needs a starting TE.
Donnell's play today tells the league he isn't worth anything. Just terrible.
I am going out on a limb here but I think Dallas beats us rather handily. Don't care about the grief either.
Yes, based on pre-season, so far you could definitely come to that conclusion, however, we'll also have our starters in the whole game and anything can happen on any given Sunday.
Let's put it this way.....expectations will certainly be pretty low until we show otherwise. I think the Giants thrive on that, but we'll see how this team responds.
I see the oline sucked - saw comments on how bad Flowers was.
How did Hart do at LG? Didn't even know he ever practiced there. Maybe a reason (or part of the reason) that Flowers looked bad.
Anyway, a few comments that Hart looked ok. Didn't see any that he was bad.
Maybe he's our training camp QB to make our DBs feel confident ... Or maybe we even need to find a 3rd string QB to cut later during preseason ... Thomas may not even be good enough for that role ...
The offense can't get going without the Oline doing its job, but TEs are an issue too. Next week is the rehearsal for the regular season and the Starters should be playing well into the 2nd half. Lots more work next week and a big test against the JETS defense. If we can somehow show we can move the ball against them, then I'll start to feel a little more comfortable, but boy would I hate to be the players this week.
New York Giants @Giants 14s14 seconds ago
"We worked too hard to put a performance like that on film. We need to take a long look in the mirror." - Coach McAdoo
Donnell needs to go. We need the best blocker at TE, and that clearly isn't him.
I'd consider calling Beatty. He can still pass protect. Then maybe flip Flowers to RT. It won't happen, but not doing anything is unacceptable. I'd also get some new OL when the cuts start. Flowers, Hart, and Newhouse were all awful. Add in Donnell's whiffs, and we have no run game.
The Giants had probably the strongest ties in the league to that No More DV/DA campaign, so for them to duck this the way McAdoo, Reese, etc are doing is pretty weak.
ahead and do that Mark. BBI is pretty good at that. There were actually some posters who understood that based on our last two games. They must be idiotic replies too. Thanks for the insight. We can talk on the 11th
So you're saying he wasn't grabbed from behind on the play with the ball in the air? Or you're saying it doesn't matter if they were denied a chance at a TD because he was grabbed from behind while the ball was in the air?
will soon be unemployed NFL(not for long).
I love Flowers, but he's a RT or RG.
And either our receivers were wearing ankle weights, their pregame meal was pasta, or Bills secondary is superfast.
But glad we got no known injuries.
Mc must have laryngitis by now.
When you can't do basic run blocking, and esp the history of this ol past several seasons, theres legit concerns. Its an eye opener. No excuses imo for basic run blocking and no able to do it

Will Odell be smiling like that when the team is losing in regular season? The OL is Putrid and it won't matter who the receivers are if the OL can't block.
Eli also did not look good. Overall bad effort by the offense
How is the continuity thing working now, maybe, just fucking maybe, you need talented offensive linemen to play together for them to improve, this is only getting worse, and if anyone thinks it may get better, think again, the NFL will expose a weakness like no other league, thy better have a fucking plan.

I think Reese tried this off-season to improve the OL but options were limited. Broncos LT Clady could have been had for a 5th round draft pick but alas we didn't get him, the Jets did.
Also, you would have had to believe that with coach Solari being added, continuity, a young guy like LT Erek Flowers would improve. He just hasn't.
But I do believe Pugh, Richburg and Jerry will be improved inside and TE Tye will be the starter now for sure along with FB Johnson playing a lot and blocking.
I just hope with two more games we get "in sync" and Flowers improves his technique. They say a players biggest improvement is from year #1 to #2. You can see that guys like DE OWA, SS Collins, RG Hart, have improved over last year. Lets hope Flowers is solid vs Jets.

Sterling Shepard appears to be moving well in pre-game warmups, so expect to see him on field w/ OBJ today in game for 1st time. #Giants

Rex remembers Cruz from his days in No. 3. #Giants
Tom Rick:
Should never have released him. https://t.co/O2v1Btgj6J
Yes, they have an app. You can stream if you subscribe to NFL Network on your cable/sat company. Need to use your login.
My DirecTV has it on 9 and, oddly, has it listed on MSG from 4:00 to 10:00 - a freakin 6 hour game!
Here's hoping a rookie stands out today..
Probably starts at 4:05
It should be on a local channel if you are blacked out.
no injuries.
Donnell not looking good.
Mis-season form.

Mis-season form.
Should be MID-season.
Been saying it for weeks: the trio of Flowers, Jerry, and Newhouse will determine if this is a playoff team or not. So far, there is a lot to be concerned about.
If we cannot run the ball, it is going to be a long season. Eli is not going to be able to convert 3rd and long enough times to get this team into the playoffs.
Perhaps no one was open. Very likely.
First play of the game Hart got run over.
Robinson
First team Oline blocked better for the run last week, however Pugh also was in at LG.
Robinson
That was an excellent blitz package. We got one of our fastest players unblocked with a chance of a clean hit. Players gotta make plays. Jenkins didnt.

Not good if it doesn't get home. Don't over analyze, results.
Forget assignments, the giants blitzed and got beat, it happens. Partly good play by TT, partly on JJ for being over aggressive with a very athletic qb
He would have blew it up
You're not serious are you??
Jenkins blew the angle he took and Robinson had no chance staying with the TE that long! Plus the field is wet and slippery, the players are sliding all over!

Thats fucking horseshit. It was a great call. If Jenkins sacks him, is it stil la bad blitz. Players make plays. Coaches make calls to put them in position to make plays.
If you blame Spags for that call, you really dont know football.

Exactly. Don't over analyze. He's a rookie and made a rookie mistake.
Jenkins isnt a rookie.
Newhouse is getting handled
Defense is outstanding except for the one big 59 yard play.
3rd and 19: Jennings nice run for 12 yards, time to punt but at least you have room.

You're the one with the stupid initial statement. We had a free guy get in the backfield who didnt make the play. Its like saying throwing a 50 yard pass is a bad call because the WR drop the ball.
haha it happens. Next time, he will sack Romo forcing a fumble. Its what preseason is about.

Can we bring Cross out to block?
I want to see an aerial display that can setup the run game. Not the other way around. That's not to this team's strength.
2011 giants were dead last in rushing and online was terrible
Pre-season is more about evaluation than winning.
I want to see an aerial display that can setup the run game. Not the other way around. That's not to this team's strength.
It's preseason. Play calling will be much more conservative, McAdoo wants the OL to work on their run blocking.
Quote:
I know it's only preseason but you have to be concerned about our line and lack of rushing attack. Teams will just load up and force the pass. Just looking for improvement each game but it's heading in the wrong direction
2011 giants were dead last in rushing and online was terrible
They were a prideful group who came on in the playoffs...this group? With castoffs like Newhouse and Jerry? There is no comparison.
The OL doesn't have Pugh inside so that doesn't help. I'm not too worried yet but definitely would like to see some "momentum" via a nice mixed play drive here....
Flowers, Hart, and Newhouse all burned. Flowers isnt a LT.
Our online sucks really bad.
Jesus
This it'll be a shame if this season is done in by a pisspoor oline
TE Donnell, he can't block for shit!
Atleast Tye throws an arm at the guy
I was just thinking about that lineup.

It's the push-ups (Williams).

And or possibly a good blocking FB, which Whitlock is not.
i agree...no idea how the ref calls it complete. honestly i think he didnt see the ball knocked out, i think he thought he held onto it
Oh he could. He just didnt.
I agree
Oline for sure!
Gotta stay disciplined and maintain gap control with a mobile QB.
2 third and longs and McCoy is wide open both times, thats definitely discouraging.
How many years have we been talking about both as problem areas.
Absolutely

the Oline or the LBers

Way too many!
Good lord. Relax.
We ca thank Chip Kelly for that.
Nice catch by King.
It's hard to evaluate the other players when the OL is playing this badly.
Last time DRC allowed a safety to catch a sure INT, we lost the game!
Me to ... I think he and Odell are out of the game.
Reports are he practices like and all-pro - did he have 1 catch today? They should have kept him in a little longer ... no?
Yeah, don't need to see any more from them today. They did well.
Nice catch by King.
It's hard to evaluate the other players when the OL is playing this badly.
Agreed but not a total loss. You watch the 'all-22' tape and see who is consistently winning their routes.
You're being kind.
Williams with the fumble.
Anyone?
well yeah. Just like the last couple of years. we have done nothing to change that. It was my belief that we needed THREE new starters on the O-line.
To be fair, they tried. There weren't many options. I think we have to try to cultivate what we have more because Newhouse isn't a starting player in this league. He's already proven what he is. Same with Donnell. And Williams. I know it's preseason but it's more of the same.
Not as awful as your posting. Defense looks just fine.
Quote:
looks awful today

They look ok vs the run, not vs the pass.
Defensively, some things to fix but this can be a solid crew.
What to do with the offense, that's the problem. Yuck.
The game's score is secondary to the possibility he is hurt.
Spite?
There's the Jeff we all know and love.
Yes.
Seems like the Offense as a whole is off.
The OL has had a rough day, but buffalo isn't a bad defense by any means, getting after the passer is what they do, plus it's preseason
The defense has given up some big plays. We got lucky that collins was able to force that fumble at the goal line but remember how they got down there. We dont get those fumbles every time. The score may be 13-0 but we are lucky it is not 20-0 and other then being able to stop the run, please tell me what we have done well today?
You mean, she...
1 first down near the end of the half. Constant pressure in the QB, no running game due to lack of holes.
Remember that we were sixth in total offense last year with the same OL IIRC. And Flowers was a rookie playing with a bum ankle. We also have more offensive weapons this year, and an improved defense should give us some short fields.
It sure looks that way right now.
Yes. And stay at the beer garden. You're having the best time of any of us. It's preseason, but this is painful on offense.
All we have on offense right now is Eli and OBJ. That is the reality. Shepard is unproven. We have nothing else. Last year, we did it all due to the Eli to OBJ connection. It is absolutely critical that we run the ball effectively this year.
Why does he play OT?
About 20 mins late.
And I will say, this team is playing like they practice. I was at the Monday practice, and they team looked very unimpressive.
There's talent there, but you do play like you practice.

Sure they do. Either way, glad you got a taste of something you like.
Pugh didn't play today fuckwad
Agreed, Pugh sucks today... it's like he's not even there.
2 pretty short kicks, too.
Quote:
The run blocking is pathetic, and don't give me any bullshit about good sack totals last year. That is all Eli's magic at avoiding them. If you want to point to one pick that has really fucked us- it is Pugh. Just a terrible player.
Pugh didn't play today fuckwad
Flowers didn't light the world on fire either and he did play.
Our TEs are brutal blockers and cannot set the edge. It's a huge problem that has been highlighted today.
I don't think our whole line is as bad.
We'll see.
Yea, but it never seems like it get corrected! Same shit week after week IMO.
He should never be in in RedZone D
Imagine if Eli gets injured! Not sure I'm looking forward to the London game so much if this is anything to go by!
Holy wow. We can't even field a kickoff.
What the fuck is the TE coach doing with these guys? Have a nice flight home pal. Better get your shit together.
We'll see.
JETs will crush us next week. Our Oline against that D?! Forget it!
I can't get over how bad our TE's are blocking today?
What the fuck is the TE coach doing with these guys? Have a nice flight home pal. Better get your shit together.
Why did we let Pope go again?
Nobody remembers 4-0 preseason teams.
This is sorta getting comical ....
How could we give up a 2 missed extra point edge?
Can Nassib catch the ball ... TE? Might find a gem ... can' be any worse.
Why not LaCosse? He is supposed to be the best all-around TE. I think it's time to shake up the depth chart at TE and move Donnell down to the bottom.
Flowers and Newhouse were bad. Hart as well, but we have far less invested in him. There are no running lanes.
The first team D looked good, but they need support from the offense.
King had a nice catch, and almost another along the sideline.
Wing was excellent.
Quote:
Get him in there. Wasn't he a good blocker in college. It's time he gets his shot.

I'd rather see Adams (the rookie) but at this point I'm not against seeing anybody other than Tye or Donnell for blocking.
1st string D was good. Offense can't do anything because of the OL and TE blocking.
Reese has gone dumpster diving when it comes to the tight end position for most of his tenure.
We had he worst 4 minute offense in football. If you can't run you can't win.
I am very worried about this season and having to put it all on Eli again.
They spent a lot of money on players for a coach to be allowed a learning curve. I doubt that is the mindset.
Honestly? It couldn't hurt. Flowers is not a LT. I'm sorry, but that was the case both in college and in the pros. He's not a LT.
Too funny, but it's not!
Quote:
know I might get pummeled for saying this, but should we look at Beatty?

I don't think Beatty will give us much push in the run game, but he was a good pass protector at LT. And right now, that would be enough.
Nice play by Okwara.
And Reese better pick up some veteran OL's soon. Let's thank our lucky stars that Manning has pocket presence and can work around a porous OL.
Wasted two picks.
First cuts are on the 30th.
And much of that was on one play to Beckham.

Flowers is starting to worry me we should have spent
The $ on Penn and slid Mr Mean Face over to RT ..
What Ya gonna Do Jerry ......
Obviously the OLine is a mess ... but Eli knows how to handle a mess of a OLine ... Just remember his first year where Warner was sacked 39 times to Eli's 13 ...
We are showing NOTHING of our offense in preseason ...
I'm sure it will be much better ...
So is the starting OL.
with this OL and Eli we will go 8-8. If Eli got hurt with nassib we would not win a game.
Total shit show even for a pre-season game.
There isn't a single positive thing to be said about our offense today. So.... nowhere to go but up!
Not even 18 inches of day light ... they can provide?
Gurley II would've made something out of nothing at the very least. I wanted him badly over Flowers.

Flowers doesn't look like a LT to me. I think he'd do much better as a RT. I'm just stunned over how many "mistakes" he continues to make with his sets, footwork, angles. Just not good....
That's why I was so averse to taking him. I saw Flowers as strictly a RT. I didn't think and still don't think he has a future at LT. I saw him as only a RT in the mold of Jah Reid. I thought Gurley II had the potential to be another AP.
Pugh is fine at LG, Richburg is great at OC, I'd like to see Flowers at RT.
After that, it's a whole bunch of shit...and the fact that we didn't draft or sign (undrafted) a single O-Lineman is amazing.
[quote] And unfortunately as starters not back-ups...................TE, OL, back up QB
this will be the true test for reese and McAdoo to make adjustments in both the roster and coaching/play calling. if things stay basicly the same, we will again hear Mara at years end give his performance of frustration that he wont tolerate this again.
I know we really haven't opened up the play book but would it even matter?
Call me crazy...but if I'm Reese I swallow my pride, design Beatty and get him working back at LT.
Again, call me crazy. Move Flowers to RT like we should have done from the start of the offseason.
10 penalties committed by the Giants?
Good thing we got rid of the HC and his no descipline, lazy, "players coach" approach.
Boo hoo hoo ... sniff sniff

I would say the entire OL today. Wasn't that impress with Richburg today either. Not much of push up the middle for Jennings when he was in there.
Would very interesting if McAdoo does not adjust his practices. Seems like he had very few hard practices and a lot of walkthroughs stuff for these guys.

Gale Sayers is 73 years old ...
-
Nassib update 2 for 12 - 25 yards. Just in.
add kicker ...
I think Josh Scobee is the best one out there. Otherwise, we wait until someone is cut.

[quote] Almost all of us believed that the OL needed an upgrade - the Giants tried but lost out on some FAs - the draft seems to have been very good to us but we passed on the OL - Reece acted surprised that anyone would be concerned - we have 3 really really challenged starters - did we loose out because FLOWERS had to be the LT - even the best fantasizers that hoped Jerry Hart Newhouse and Flowers would be average or better all of a sudden - can't be feeling very good - this is scary - an offense with some strong weapons may have trouble against everyone with a strong DL and pass rush - I do not like the way our GM presents himself and the arrogance that comes forward - but I love the Giants more than I want him fired -but if we waste another precious year of Eli and OBJ ---- Reece cannot work here anymore - he will have nobody to blame but himself - personally I hoped he was out with Coach Coughlin - when he fanned on at least one OT I was thinking maybe He knew better - does anyone think this is a reasonable nfl OL? We really have one more preseason game to go before Dallas
I am really looking forward to reese and McAdoo's response after this game. will it be excuses and promises of improving or roster moves via trade or signings. status quo is fool's gold.
WHy did Bob Timberlake flash before my eyes ...
We have plenty of cap room.
That's one thing we do have. Cap room.
Does not matter how good your skills players are if the OL can't block.
"All should be glad nobody of importance got hurt." ....
This is very true Jim.

Donnell's play today tells the league he isn't worth anything. Just terrible.
I'm just happy that we suffered no major injuries.
Oh, and DT Greg Millhouse is looking good this 2nd half.
at 3:00am Monday morning and then go into work late .... and tired.
* Not really sure about the date or time of the replay?
I think they switched it to the Colts game before it ended? WTF?
How did Hart do at LG? Didn't even know he ever practiced there. Maybe a reason (or part of the reason) that Flowers looked bad.
Anyway, a few comments that Hart looked ok. Didn't see any that he was bad.
Maybe he's our training camp QB to make our DBs feel confident ... Or maybe we even need to find a 3rd string QB to cut later during preseason ... Thomas may not even be good enough for that role ...
"We worked too hard to put a performance like that on film. We need to take a long look in the mirror." - Coach McAdoo
- Beckham blatantly held on long 4th down pass (no call).
- JPP blatantly held on McCoy TD reception (no call).
The Beckham play cost them a chance at a long TD on the opening drive.
Nassau did nothing, but he's not going anywhere.
The first team D was solid.
Deayon is to short to play on the outside.
Okwara was excellent. Milhouse had a solid game.
Get a veteran kicker for game one.
before the weekend is over. Meet the new Giants, same as
the old Giants it appears.
Uh-oh.
So did Johnny Mara, he'll just pay him instead!
Of course he did.
The Giants had probably the strongest ties in the league to that No More DV/DA campaign, so for them to duck this the way McAdoo, Reese, etc are doing is pretty weak.
Can we please bookmark and archive this post? I wish Kivorka had written it in all caps, that's the only way it could have been more idiotic.
So you're saying he wasn't grabbed from behind on the play with the ball in the air? Or you're saying it doesn't matter if they were denied a chance at a TD because he was grabbed from behind while the ball was in the air?
I love Flowers, but he's a RT or RG.
And either our receivers were wearing ankle weights, their pregame meal was pasta, or Bills secondary is superfast.
But glad we got no known injuries.
Mc must have laryngitis by now.
can run worth shit vs even most of reg first team DL. TE's can't run block worth a shit either.
When they don't look worse in their 2nd game, when they looked like crap in their first.
Uh-oh.
It's way too early to predict how it will play out, but there was always a risk in going with a rookie HC for Eli's last few years.
Eli also did not look good. Overall bad effort by the offense
