but kick the tires? Low cost move, huge upside... I know he's out of shape and currently a fatass, but maybe getting cut will knock some sense into him.
He'd immediately be our best RB this year IMO, and he was awesome last year when he got touches. Then again, behind our line, who knows if *any* RB will be productive.

Lord love a duck! Never, ever, touch a player who can't get along with Rex.
You see this in different forms for a lot of players. Beatty would immediately be our best backup. Will Hill would immediately be our best safety. Anthony Davis would immediately be our best lineman. The list goes on and on.
When you have players with either a history of suspensions, injuries, questions about attitude or work ethic, etc. They have sufficient enough questions to keep them out of conversations of signing them.
I have no idea if the immediately upgrade anything, but I'm 100% certain they immediately bring a cloud of uncertainly over their ability to stay on teh field for long times, whether it be because of constant injuries, looming suspensions or the threat to retire.
