this was coming. he did it on punt coverage, he went low and hit the guy when he got up he didnt hang his arm but i could see the hit put him in some discomfort. horrible news hopefully he is there opening day as we need all hands on deck!
and MT's been viewed as a bit of a project, who's lost a year to the Achilles, to boot.
I think MT could end up on IR for another year. As far as Taylor is concerned, I'm not optimistic, but stranger things have happened. We cut him last year, and then picked him up after somebody else cut him, if IIRC. He can't stay healthy. If MT end up on IR, then it will Taylor, Currie, or Jackson I assume for the last safety spot.

@ 4:27 remaining in 2nd quarter.
If he can't play the rest of the preseason, may not be fair to drop him into the Dallas game. Already a daunting prospect for a rookie, even without the lost reps.

Not so sure about that. Admittedly it's based on 2 preseason games, but he seems to understand this defense better than any of his possible replacements.
It isn't live...he can walk through with team and still do a ton of studying. He is way more gifted than any other FS on the roster. He will start if able come week 1
So our first 3 draft picks have gotten banged up already. Hopefully Goodson isn't next.
Not ideal obviously but if this is the extent of the lumps the Giants take in pre-season I'll be thrilled.
and hopefully it's a sign of health for a change.
Yeah, I would have signed up for this amount of "damage" at this point in a second. Saturday night is the one I'm really holding my breath until afterwards though. If we get out of that one without anything devastating we'll be in great shape going into the opener.
If it's not too serious he won't be on the field for the next three weeks reducing the likelihood of a more serious injury. Yeah I've been reduced to some twisted logic
Darian Thompson had a shoulder injury on Saturday and will be on a week-to-week basis. Matt LaCosse is day-to-day w knee.

hopefully he has 2 or his upper body will look weird
You and I know how painful a shoulder can be with or without a tear..
Matt LaCosse is day-to-day .
So is anyone he tries to block for.

The 3rd pre-season game he would have played into the 3rd quarter probably as the starter, so that hurts.
but the 4th pre-season game maybe a series or two.
(which is a disaster...)
With Coughlin, we would''t hear about these injuries until Wednesday...
