Sanchez rips a shot down the line!
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 10:57 pm : link
Holds himself to a single ...
Sanchez plate discipline
bigbluehoya : 8/22/2016 10:58 pm : link
Is 10x better than I ever could have imagined it would be. He owns the strike zone.
f'in Castro -
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:00 pm : link
I know you guys hate bunts, but they're better than that outcome.
and the McCann DP for the trifecta.
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:01 pm : link
.
Sanchez and Cano could've been a nice 3-4 in the order.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/22/2016 11:02 pm : link
They spent 205 million on Ellsbury and Headley... might as well have given that to Cano.

Yeah, there would've been shit years on the back of that contract. With Ellsbury and Headley, almost all of them are shit years.

Can't argue there. Tough seeing Cano on Seattle. Loved watching him play. Best move is to not give those big deals to any of them. But if you're gonna spend the Cano savings on Ellsbury and Headley, then they should've just brought Robbie back in the first place
crap - ballsy call to let him swing away -
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:14 pm : link
down 3-2 now.
Bad Mike
bigbluehoya : 8/22/2016 11:14 pm : link
Rears his head w 2 outs. Shocker.
Except there was only 1 out
bigbluehoya : 8/22/2016 11:15 pm : link
It's my bedtime.

Go yanks

I think Buchnevich has a chance to be the Ranger version.
Pineda melt down
Kyle in NY : 8/22/2016 11:19 pm : link
but this is cool...

Gary Sanchez 4th inning single was the 2nd hardest ball any Yankees player has hit all year... 113.1 MPH.

so you think he's making the jump from St Petersburg (not the Florida version) to NY this year?
Yes
Phil in LA : 8/22/2016 11:29 pm : link
I do.
Holy
giantsfan44ab : 8/22/2016 11:37 pm : link
Fuck...
Holy shit!
bceagle05 : 8/22/2016 11:37 pm : link
Sanchez again!
Sanchez....insane...
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:38 pm : link
he is going to hit 120 HRs next year!
Wow
dune69 : 8/22/2016 11:38 pm : link
.
Holy shit!
Danny Kanell : 8/22/2016 11:40 pm : link
.
This is no fluke either.
bceagle05 : 8/22/2016 11:40 pm : link
The guy is a monster.
Amazing
Kyle in NY : 8/22/2016 11:41 pm : link
And he really does completely own the strike zone. Wouldn't bite at anything off the plate and just waits for his pitch. And then the ball just explodes off his bat
Can't wait to see
bceagle05 : 8/22/2016 11:41 pm : link
Frazier, Sanchez, Bird and Judge in the middle of the lineup someday soon.
Castro!
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:42 pm : link
Not my fave, but I'll take it ...

And Harper. How does everyone keep forgetting Bryce Harper?
Don't forget
shelovesnycsports : 8/22/2016 11:50 pm : link
Rutherford?
man, Cano is a tough out.
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:51 pm : link
.
Sorry, but I'm not too familiar with the contract situation
giantsfan44ab : 8/22/2016 11:52 pm : link
But when I see people listing "future lineups" I don't see didi mentioned often. I might be reading too much into the previous comment but he should (or could) be a mainstay as a first/second hitter, no?
I'm hoping they trade Didi
Phil in LA : 8/22/2016 11:55 pm : link
for pitching. And let Wade, Mateo and Torreyes figure out who's gonna be the next SS.
Whether it's Didi or someone else
djm : 8/23/2016 12:04 am : link
The yanks will definitely be trading a ss. Just gotta trade and keep the right one.
Swarzak
shelovesnycsports : 8/23/2016 12:07 am : link
You jerk
good grief - suck-o-rama
Del Shofner : 8/23/2016 12:07 am : link
Why can't they keep from falling behind in the count?
That's on Joe.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/23/2016 12:07 am : link
Why not go to Warren... because he's the "8th inning guy"?
Why does Joe keep going to this guy
Kyle in NY : 8/23/2016 12:08 am : link
when he's shown he can't get anybody out and gives up a bunch of home runs? Fucking awful
Swarzak sucks
DennyInDenville : 8/23/2016 12:08 am : link
His time is up
Yep, Girardi and his defined roles
Kyle in NY : 8/23/2016 12:09 am : link
can't get over how bad that is
Can Girardi
shelovesnycsports : 8/23/2016 12:09 am : link
Manage the Kids? Or is he a better guy with seasoned vets?
10 HR in 28 innings
Kyle in NY : 8/23/2016 12:11 am : link
wow. If Joe can't manage the bullpen right he's good for nothing else
Please start Torreyes tomorrow.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/23/2016 12:12 am : link
I literally cannot watch anymore of this asshole.
well, at least we have
Del Shofner : 8/23/2016 12:12 am : link
Chase Headley.
Girardi had so many options there
Kyle in NY : 8/23/2016 12:18 am : link
and chose the absolute worst one. Clown

Totally agree. It's his worst fault as a manager. i just don't get it.
At least Swarzak
shelovesnycsports : 8/23/2016 12:29 am : link
Is gone. Wow what downer after those two HRs
Can't run on Gary.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/23/2016 12:32 am : link
Are you fuckin' crazy?
I love Gary
shelovesnycsports : 8/23/2016 12:33 am : link
Sanchez !
That was an absolute laser
mfsd : 8/23/2016 12:36 am : link
of a throw. Wow
Girardi is wasting an all-star showing from Sanchez
Del Shofner : 8/23/2016 12:36 am : link
.
.
Kyle in NY : 8/23/2016 12:52 am : link
There are no more words for Girardi's managing tonight.

Anthony Swarzak. Kirby Yates. Come on

Completely wastes a game for the ages by Sanchez
Why
mitch300 : 8/23/2016 12:56 am : link
Is swarzak on this team? He has an era of 5.90, is 30 years old. The Yanks have no ne in the minors that can't do any better. I thought we were going with a youth movement.
Teixeira continues to be worthless at the plate.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/23/2016 1:08 am : link
The shittiest part of the inning is I'm 98% certain that pitch to Judge wasn't a strike.

Thanks for the L Joe.
Meh
Dave in Hoboken : 8/23/2016 1:12 am : link
as nice as it would be to clinch a wild card spot, that most likely isn't in the cards this year, and that's fine. This is all about getting these kids some major league experience so they're not walking into next season as complete newbies on the major league roster. These last 2-3 months of the season are allowing for that, so I'm cool with it if they don't make the postseason.

Only thing I will say is that Pineda will always be Pineda and Teix should be sitting on the bench the rest of the way.
