he's just immensely strong
Greg from LI : 8/22/2016 5:00 pm : link
I think it was his last homer against Anaheim - he was fooled by the curveball and swung off-balance, way ahead of the pitch....and he still drove it out. That was eye-opening.
Its the 24
shelovesnycsports : 8/22/2016 5:04 pm : link
time to dig the old Cano jersey out of the closet.
OK, I'll play Debbie Downer
njm : 8/22/2016 5:07 pm : link
Let's see what happens his second time through the league before he's crowned savior.
you just watch your mouth, mister

njm, you have valid point...
manh george : 8/22/2016 5:11 pm : link
but so does Greg. If he is strong enough to be fooled on a pitch and still clear the fence, the number of holes in his swing decrease sharply.
was speaking of this one

vis a vis Sanchez...I love watching him do well but lets see him do it a few hundred more weeks before we put him in the HOF. one week doesn't make a career.

Bobby Klaus anyone?
What no Dirty Sanchez

Sanchez!
What I love about Sanchez (and Judge) isn't just the power
mfsd : 8/22/2016 10:32 pm : link
But they both look patient at the plate and don't chase much.

Headley missed that pitch

By about two feet.

He's just fucking brutal to watch. I'm well aware that there are numerous guys who've been as bad or worse numbers-wise, but he's my least favorite by a country mile.
There's Ellsbury doing his thing!
B in ALB : 8/22/2016 10:48 pm : link
Hits into a weak double play. He's awesome.
If Ellsbury wasn't such shit in front of him
Kyle in NY : 8/22/2016 10:48 pm : link
maybe he wouldn't have to hit so many solo homers.

Apparently he's hit 11 home runs this season. I can't remember one or a single meaningful hit by him. Seems like he never makes strong contact. Saw that K on a curve in the dirt coming a mile away.

... and I am totally wondering about that. Gotta play the big contracts over the small ones even where the little guy earns the time. Don't like it!
Ellsbury and Headley, my lord are they awful.

Is 10x better than I ever could have imagined it would be. He owns the strike zone.

I know you guys hate bunts, but they're better than that outcome.
and the McCann DP for the trifecta.

Sanchez and Cano could've been a nice 3-4 in the order.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/22/2016 11:02 pm : link
They spent 205 million on Ellsbury and Headley... might as well have given that to Cano.

Yeah, there would've been shit years on the back of that contract. With Ellsbury and Headley, almost all of them are shit years.

Can't argue there. Tough seeing Cano on Seattle. Loved watching him play. Best move is to not give those big deals to any of them. But if you're gonna spend the Cano savings on Ellsbury and Headley, then they should've just brought Robbie back in the first place
crap - ballsy call to let him swing away -
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:14 pm : link
down 3-2 now.
Bad Mike

I think Buchnevich has a chance to be the Ranger version.

Gary Sanchez 4th inning single was the 2nd hardest ball any Yankees player has hit all year... 113.1 MPH.

The guy is a monster.
Amazing
Kyle in NY : 8/22/2016 11:41 pm : link
And he really does completely own the strike zone. Wouldn't bite at anything off the plate and just waits for his pitch. And then the ball just explodes off his bat
Can't wait to see
bceagle05 : 8/22/2016 11:41 pm : link
Frazier, Sanchez, Bird and Judge in the middle of the lineup someday soon.
Castro!
Del Shofner : 8/22/2016 11:42 pm : link
