“I don’t. I don’t know what that means,” Belichick said. “In terms of playing time it might be a little different, but in terms of game-planning and strategy, what we see in the regular season compared to what we see the in third preseason game I don’t even think you’re in the same universe. We’re still running our basic plays and we’d expect our opponents would run their basic plays. You get to the opener and start to get to game-planning and scheme, I mean you’re in a totally different ballpark, in my opinion. I don’t see any comparison at all. It’s too far away, I don’t see how you could compare them, from that standpoint.”

Why would any team gameplan and give anything away for week 1?
Just a bunch?
And the playcalling has been atrocious !
And yet.........
Lol yea seriously. It's stunningly hilarious.
I often wondered why we play these guys the 3rd game every preseason. It makes sense to play them every year as the Texans/Cowboys, Eagles/Steelers, Ravens/Skins, etc. do... but we seem to be the only geographic rivalry that plays this "most important" starter preseason game every year.
You'd think at the least we'd alternate with the Pats (always the 4th game) every few years.

What gets me is that McAdoo has said he wouldn't disclose who is calling the plays to keep a tactical advantage, but yet some of our resident geniuses expect to see him open up the playbook in preseason.
but who's got more Snoopy's?
Perfect.

You guys are joking, however I wonder how this preseason will influence or not the decision on who should handle play calling. I know Sheridan handled the first game. The results were, Nassib melted down in epic fashion.
Under normal circumstances I would pay zero attention to these things, but McAdoo himself said play calling responsibility were still undetermined/undecided. So how do you evaluate an underlying's play calling prowess, under conditions where the team is deliberately trying to hide the full extent of their playbook?
Because run blocking on a draw play is important?
and let a Rex Ryan defense pin their ears back on 3rd and long? I'd bet that our real offense will use the passing game to open up the running game and put us in more manageable down and distance.
