The Rangers will be announcing the signing of a player soon. I have inside source, so I cant mention name yet. I will just tell you he is a 25 years old forward with a nice upside.
Typing up a new 10 paragraph angry diatribe about Dan Girardi.
Waiting until the Mets win a few in a row so he can tell us how much of a better fan he is than us. You know... better than the fans who actually follow the team when things aren't going well...
Jacob Trouba seems no closer to signing a deal with the Jets. I would actually like him more than Shattenkirk as he has better longterm potential, IMO.
Josh Manson and Brandon Montour of the Ducks
Matt Dumba (recently extended) and Jared Spurgeon of the Wild
Michael Stone of the Coyotes
Ryan Murphy and Brett Pesce of the Hurricanes
Ryan Ellis of the Predators
Julius Honka of the Stars
What about JT Miller and Dylan McIlrath for Jacob Trouba?
Gordon has the depth and flexibility to craft a balanced roster now
Some of these forwards have to be packaged. I would build a deal around any number of them including Nash and Hayes who you'd believe would be desirable commodities to some GM's out there. Ideally we'll be able to get Staal out of town as well but that may be too much to ask.

I doubt we trade Hayes when he was so fundamental (or seemingly at least) in bringing in Jimmy Vesey. Same with JT Miller. That's why I think Nash and Zucc are the most likely to be traded (I hope Nash more so than Zucc).
He's still the only fwd that fights with any regularity.
We all agree he sucks as that almost as bad as he sucks at hockey, and brings nothing else to the table.
McIlrath is better, but he needs to be on the ice more, so he can't just run around looking for one.
The need for that role has greatly diminished and the choice should always be talent over ineffectual goon, but someone needs to tell AV.
Replacing him does mean that guys like Kreider and Miller may have to throw down more often. Not "enforce" but they'll need to react to questionable hits n shit.
Buch, Gropp, Kovacs, Vesey, Day, Halverson, and prob Morrison are the ones your really care about. The Ds outside of Day are a wasteland. Zborovskiy has potential but if his development curve is long, will he bolt for more $$ in Russia? I would.

i've been here. Watching it all and laughing. It's become clear that no one is willing to admit when they sound like a douchebag when they are obnoxiously wrong and even in some cases the bitching goes on and on even when people have been wrong over and over. At some point its like talking to a wall. I mean the amount of bitching about how the Rangers window was closed and they had no young guys and no picks and no assets etc was in high supply. Now suddenly they have too many forwards to count. There was bitching about how the team had no goalies in the system and they now have what...4 good or great prospects? Its boring after a while to talk to people who dislike you and what you have to say because they know they are right and are always wrong but never shutup as they get shot down over and over.
Then there are the Met fans. The most embarrassing. Met fans can go into a weekend giddy, spend a saturday night saying the team is horrible and the manager is the worst and then go to work on Monday talking about how great De Aza is. I mean listen to Benigno and Roberts...two guys who will spend weeks bitching bitching bitching bitching about making moves. they get Bruce and then are SHOCKED!! nSHOCKED when he isnt great. its a joke. Then there is the manager bashing....
Its best to not talk all the time and since my father passed away I can't waste my time getting fired up about the lowest of the low in regards to fan examples. Its not worth my anxiety level going up more than its been to try to convince someone (like yourself perhaps) how much of a fucking dope he is. Enjoy whatever it is that gets you off.
and the other thing is that I dont need to post daily about the pain in my vagina and how much Terry Collins sucks to prove i watch the Mets when they aren't going well. I just dont feel the need to panic like some pussies such as yourself. Or talk about another person when you think they aren't looking. Like Arc for instance. I've only tried to talk like a man to that dude 10000 times but he still wants to do it this way. So what we'll do is do it this way. When he says something completely fucking dumb, i'll make sure we all know. It's fun to be part of the cool kid group,. Thats why Arc is buddies with the absolute worst rival fans of his teams. He needs to have reinforcement. I dont mind being known as contrarian to a bunch of guys who are so often pretending they knew everything all along even when they rant and rave everyday about bullshit.
Davisian I dont think so...this will likely not go away because of the speed and severity of the issue and whatnot. Life has not been on my side recently. Lets go Rangers

Sorry about your Dad Seth, absolutely horrible thing for someone to go through.
Regarding BBI, I had every expectation that you'd read my post, and didn't think that you "wouldn't be looking." It's a public forum on a 100+ post thread, so not exactly hiding anything there.
Congrats on showing up and telling us how Mets fans stink though. Can't say how much we all look forward to those posts. You might enjoy the threads more if you tried to engage people in a friendly manner rather than "convince someone how much of a fucking dope he is."

It was time to move on but disappointed we couldn't win a Cup for this guy. If you saw the documentary of him and his deceased wife, it was hard to keep a dry eye and not have the utmost respect for this guy. Plus at least he did score the GWG in game 6 against Montreal - a memory I'll never forget.
Despite being on Seth's list, being a rival team's fan and all...
the Rangers were 25:1 odds to win the Stanley Cup at the Venetian sports book.
I usually bet on teams I hate, the Bruins, Patriots, Red Sox, etc.
but that was too good to pass up.
The Edmonton Oilers (20:1) had better odds than the Rangers.
WTF? I think the Rangers are close to a lock for the playoffs, and if Hank gets hot they're primed for a deep run.
Somehow the Habs were 15:1 but I think that's just because so much money gets bet on them and they even out the line. I don't think that's reflective of their status.
We might have Hank, but this defense is still atrocious. I do not think we are a lock for the playoffs at all, especially in such a tough division.
Maybe a deal gets done for D help during preseason but i'm beginning to think we're content with this roster through midseason and will reassess at the trade deadline. Pirri was likely signed because Lindberg won't contribute before the New Year and AV may not be all that enthralled with him anyway (based on his usage last season).
Not that there are top 4, puck-moving defensemen available this close to training camp anyway.

If McDonagh was healthy last year it would have been a different story. Just need to replace Yandle IMO and the team is better than last year. Easier said than done, but not impossible. Also, I think you're underrating Skjei a little - though you didn't say it - I think a lot of Rangers fans are, I think he's going to make a huge leap this year and play (and earn) top 4 D minutes.
lots of money is betting on McDavid taking the leap... other young guys improving... Lucic bringing leadership, Larsen starting to stabilize the defense...
but the bigger issue is playing in the awful West division and a 14 team conference.
I wouldnt bet on them at 20:1 either.. but its less shocking to me than Habs at 15:1

Yeah I was surprised with the Habs.
but like I said with that I think it's a function of money - historically not just this year - being bet on them.
The Habs might be as good as last year if you think this year Weber and Subban are a wash. their only other additions were Radulov (and who knows what you'll get from that crazy bastard) and Andrew Shaw who is a meh top 9 forward. And they gave up Lars Eller who is probably a wash at worst with Shaw.
on other words they are still, probably more than any other team, heavily reliant on their netminder.
they probably have one of the better 4th lines in the league, but so what.
they will go as far as Price takes them and he's been out of work a long time.
I saw this article last week about Asadourian's camp in Newington (mainly because it mentioned Devon Toews of the Isles). A good bit devoted to Quinnipiac skaters with Pecknold getting some of the praise he deserves. Newington Pro Hockey Camp - ( New Window )

kind of amazing to lose two national titles and be nationally ranked multiple times and still not have an NHL player from the school. If it was all 23 - 25 year old Canadian kids who were too old to be drafted and trying to get exposure I'd say well there's your explanation, but it's not. He has a good mix of American and Canadian.
Just ask yourself an easy question to answer...Why would Seth come here and immediately be in attack mode?
I mean do you seriously think I haven't started the majority of my posts without even directing them at a person or people? You think I've been a member of this site for what....12 or so years without just giving my opinion or disagreeing with a general public/majority view? I can't see how anyone would think someone has a preference for getting into legitimate personal arguments and not just disagreements in normal conversations. The reason you have this idea is because you are reading shit I'm saying in threads with people who have been vicious in their response to my disagreements. I could go back to prior Mets regimes or Rangers discussions prior to a salary cap and recall people immediately ripping the shit out of me for saying things that went against the majority. Doesn't matter much if I was right. And people dont act too politely towards me.
Take you for example...you thought of me and just had to make sure you took a shot at me because for some reason

I took a one-line shot at you because in the past you've gone onto Met threads and basically called posters stupid because they've vented about the team or criticized the manager during losing streaks. I don't like that style of posting, so I made a joke about you. It's not really about whether your right or wrong to me, it's more about the posting style and attitude toward other posters.
Still, taking an unsolicited wise-crack shot at you like I did is lame and I regret doing it. I'm happy to try bury the hatchet and try to get along better on Met threads.
Anyway, sorry for clogging your thread Rangers' fans. Congrats on the surprisingly smart offseason. Still think you're looking up at NYI when all is said and done in 2016-2017 though!

I'll explain it this way...Its not during losing streaks, and its not how i have ever posted to start conversations...until it became standrd practice to tell me i'm an idiot and a joke and dont "contribute" anything because i say what that other poster pointed out and explain how tiring it is to read in every thread. As that guy said, in every post there is at least one managerial offense that indicates why the successful Mets manager is the worst. I could read a post durong a loss and come back a week later during a 5 game winning streak and the threads look the same. Some people just ignore it. I did for a while. This time I was tired of how lame and fucking predictable it is. I don't call people idiots but some people like to act like idiots all the damn time. When people start to becoem proud of their opinion as it makes less and less sense, its more and more tiring to have thread after thread ruined.
Actually you bring up the Rangers ....Do you know how often it was stated that the team had no depth and no forwards and we ruined it all with this move or that move...and yeah so what if they were thiiiiis close to a Cup, they didnt win so what idiot would make that mistake? Then suddenly the team gets another 2nd rounder, and signs 5 forwards under 25 while bringing over their best prospect and traqding a skilled but streaky player for a possible star. And then of course....Dan Girardi. The man who invented AIDS and caused poverty in the world.

Gorton did a great job with the hand he was dealt this offseason, but he still faces an uphill climb. 50/50 the team makes the playoffs this year.
Got anything else?

Something's gotta give.
Definitely nailed it.
It takes a hockey thread to get a decent asshat in this place.

Somehow though, this needs a defenseman who can skate the puck up ice, connect on the breakout pass and, heaven for bid, shoot the puck hard/accurate.
It should be.. but I'll honestly never believe it until I see it. The guy is the epitome of the 9 lives cliche.
