The Rangers will be announcing the signing of a player soon. I have inside source, so I cant mention name yet. I will just tell you he is a 25 years old forward with a nice upside.
means Lindberg either becomes expendable, or they think he won't do much this year coming off the major injury.
What'd make me really happy is we sign Pirri and banish Glass to the AHL on the same day. You have to take this toy away from AV. Keeping him around is too tempting for the coach.
I wonder if Fast gets traded now. He's an AV favorite and a real asset as a bottom six guy, but perhaps coupling him with Nash can fetch us that top 6 PMD RD that we so desperately need.
Or SOMEONE CAN FUCKING TAKE STAAL OR GIRARDI OFF OUR HANDS. PLEASE!!??!?!
on the trade Nash wagon yet. Guy still can score and has played some great 2 way hockey for us. Granted his contract is big, but if he socres 30-40 and plays D the way he has been he's worth it for now. Pirri has intrigued me since the last trade deadline, but why does he bounce around so much? He seems like a perfect 4th line center who can net some goals.
Better get you a cost controlled all star in his prime back Anak.
Contrary to the opinions of some, Nash has a metric ton of value to teams that know what they're doing. Straight up for shattenkirk I'm not sure the rangers are getting fair value
Through a valuable asset like fast in there too.... Kucherov or Drouin better be coming back our way.

I would definitely do that though. Nash, Fast, Marc Staal and Tanner Glass (because I need to throw him in) for like Shattenkirk and Joni Lehtera would be fine in my book.
If they can get Trouba, it would be amazing. Trouba is still unsigned
I want Shattenkirk but not as a 1 year rental. The last thing I want to do is move Nash and then realize halfway into the season that we don't have enough scoring punch. I do think if we add Pirri that it makes the odds of moving a FWD pretty likely... just not sure I'd be in such a rush to unload Nash.
But they sorely lack a #1 RD. Klein is perfect as a second pair guy and McIlrath can give them minutes as a third pair guy with the potential to be a second pair guy. Girardi is limited to the third pair only unfortunately.
They also lack a PMD/PP QB. God help us if it's McDonagh leading the rush. Shattenkirk or Trouba would be amazing.
He's the heart and soul of this team. His production on the ice and his leadership off the ice is indispensable. A 60 point guy at his salary is very valuable that I would have to be bowled over by any offer to trade him.
"Sportsnet has Pirri in their top 4 bargain UFA signings, and some advanced stat they have come up with suggests he’s in the top 10 NHL shooters over the past 3 seasons."
Well, we could use shooters, but that's a bit of a one-trick pony, no?
They are the same age, one plays center the other wing, and one guy has 80 points in 166 career NHL games the other 1 point in 5 games.
Normally I enjoy your shiny rants ... But Pirri isn't shiny. He'd cost under a mil.
It's not a hill I'd die on, but while Pirri has the experience, he's also been the beneficiary on his pedigree.
One was drafted in the second, one was undrafted.
Pirri bounced around, put up numbers at lower levels and couldn't stick with the Blackhawks, went to Florida and played some decent hockey in his role.
Hrivik went undrafted, got better each year for Hartford and atually played Center there last year to some pretty good chemistry with Jensen.
This isn't shiny chasing, it's roster muddlin'.. They've developed Hrivik. He can play each fwd position, he's cheap, he's big, skilled (as far as AHL numbers go) and he's been counted on for all situations on the very team that's actually there to develop players that will fit on the varsity team.
Maybe he's not good enough for that next step, but I'd rather find that out after giving him a chance than bringing in another player with the same valuation at this point. (Pirri is unsigned at this point for a reason)
we've proven to have a pretty good player development system. Let's see what we've got with some of these kids, even the unsung ones. Pirri isn't moving the needle for me.
you're Vesey to the Devils comment had me laughing. In fact when my buddy texted me that the Rangers signed him, I "googled" Jimmy Vesey and Wikipedia had him on the Devils. I took a snap on my iPhone and thought about brunswick.
The player in question is a big Anthony Davis fan. As soon as his trade here is finalized, this guy will sign to come to Broadway. Have patience, it's just a matter of the dominoes falling.
So we kind of did sign a lefty C (who is 26, not 25) Â
Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack has signed forward Philip McRae to an AHL contract.
A veteran of six pro seasons, the 6-2, 201-pound McRae spent this past year with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, skating in 35 games and registering nine goals and six assists for 15 points, along with 33 penalty minutes.
A second-round (33rd overall) NHL draft pick by the St. Louis Blues in 2008, McRae suited up for 15 NHL games with the Blues in his rookie season of 2010-11, and contributed one goal and two assists. The 26-year-old Apple Valley, MN native has logged 264 career AHL contests with the Peoria Rivermen, Chicago Wolves and the Condors, amassing totals of 66 goals and 65 assists for 131 points, plus 122 PIM. He also spent one season, the 2013-14 campaign, playing in Finland’s top league, the SM-liiga. McRae split that year between Tappara Tampere and the Espoo Blues, with a total output of eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points, along with 14 PIM.
Prior to turning pro, McRae skated for five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), chalking up 65 goals and 102 assists for 167 points, and serving 206 minutes in penalties, in 240 career games with the London Knights and Plymouth Whalers.
McRae’s father, Basil McRae, enjoyed a 576-game NHL career from 1981-97, and his uncle, Chris McRae, played 237 career AHL games from 1984-91.
RE: RE: I wonder if they can make a trade for Jacob Trouba Â
The all caps of excitement and instant nicknames were just tempered enthusiasm...
First off, it was Arc who came up with the nicknames. I embraced them.
Second, I liked the trade. It doesn't mean "I splooged all over my keyboard." The only two trades I really went nuts over was the McDonagh/Gomez trade and the Kotalik/Jokinen/Prust trade. Liking a trade is different than splooging all over your keyboard.

Apparently Balki is stalling again and holding up the deal.
Pirri I think would be a great depth signing. 14 goals and 15 assists last year, and 22 goals two years ago with Florida.
If true, great work by Gorton. The more Glass gets pushed off the roster.

Either way, AV will once again have an opportunity to roll 4 legitimate lines that can play, which I'm sure he will unceremoniously decline.
They also lack a PMD/PP QB. God help us if it's McDonagh leading the rush. Shattenkirk or Trouba would be amazing.
The guy to sell is Zucc as he would fetch a very good haul in return coming off his best season.
The way I would rank the RW:
1) Zucc
2) Miller
3) Nash
My point is buy low / sell high and a trade with Zucc could return a very nice haul.

Problem is, Rick Nash has all the Canadian teams on his no trade list. SETH. Now do you see why NTC matter?

Kind of liking and loving Tim Kennedy.

Definitely guilty of being wrong on Tim Kennedy.
Also, Denis Hamel and Alexandre Giroux

I don't think I made up any nickname for Nash.
Stubicle and Evil Stralman were my work, yes.
