The Rangers will be announcing the signing of a player soon. I have inside source, so I cant mention name yet. I will just tell you he is a 25 years old forward with a nice upside.
The all caps of excitement and instant nicknames were just tempered enthusiasm...
First off, it was Arc who came up with the nicknames. I embraced them.
Second, I liked the trade. It doesn't mean "I splooged all over my keyboard." The only two trades I really went nuts over was the McDonagh/Gomez trade and the Kotalik/Jokinen/Prust trade. Liking a trade is different than splooging all over your keyboard.
Kind of liking and loving Tim Kennedy.
I don't think I made up any nickname for Nash.
Stubicle and Evil Stralman were my work, yes.
Nick Rash was you, no? Or was it someone else? Jon in NJ maybe. I did create the Sick Rash one after Nick Rash, but it never took off.

Definitely guilty of being wrong on Tim Kennedy.
Also, Denis Hamel and Alexandre Giroux
Well I was wrong about Nik Zherdev so it's all good.
the Philip McRae signing that Anakim mentioned yesterday? Although I think that is officially a Wolfpack signing and not the Rangers (which there is a slight difference - see Yann Danis - who played for the Pack)

He did fit the description.
He does, but he doesn't exactly have "nice upside." I doubt he even sees the NHL. Pirri, on the other hand, has the potential to be a 13th F with a possibility of playing on the third line.
Starting a thread like this over the a completely inconsequential signing would be ridiculous. If the kid we signed yesterday was who he was talking about.. oy vey.
I think it's pretty clear the OP is referring to Pirri. But it's also starting to look like BS. Would be nice of the OP to give us some sort of update but much like Slade and some of these other guys who claim to have inside information, it seems they'd rather keep up the facade.
has excess, young top 4 (preferably puck-moving) Dmen to give away at this point though?
Truth is even with Pirri... Lindberg is probably shot until the new year... hopefully it at least means Glass is a goner. Without Glass we have 13 guys we're comfortable with at NHL level... with guys like Hrivic and Jensen able to fill-in when (not if) injuries occur.
Won't bring back Shattenkirk but possibly a mid level, useful defenseman
We have a good amount of mid level, useful D-men already though. We need an offensive minded, young player (frankly if we'd kept Del Zotto he'd have been the type... oh well) we can pair with McD or Klein, i think.
I wonder if Fast + McIlraith gets that done. Obviously we'd all much rather trade one of Staal, Girardi or even Klein (the guys on the wrong side of 30) for the puck-moving Dman... but gotta give to get.
Panties in a bunch because Bronx didn't post again and was quiet with no signing. Then it happens. Feel the burn.
You are grouping my innocuous post with Carl's? And exonerating your man-crush ARC while crushing me for just stating he hadnt posted since the OP in two days?
Man you are worse than those fans at MSG that do the 8-7-6 countdown on Ovechkin 5x per game... only to see Ovi score on us shortly thereafter. Rinse. Repeat.
If Glass is still on the roster coming opening night
The Panthers sent oft-injured center Dave Bolland and 2015 first-round pick Lawson Crouse to the Phoenix Coyotes for future second- and third-round draft picks.
Crouse is like a bigger, better Vesey. Enormous potential. No good comp for him, big, strong, fast, skilled, physical.
But it cost PHO 16.5M in Bolland's remaining contract (which they need, plus more, to get to the salary floor) and draft picks.

Who's still calling them the Phoenix Coyotes?
Uncle Larry keeps saying they're not interested in Shattenkirk, but

So that's what we have to do to rid ourselves of Dan Girardi...Haha

The Sun Sentinel. LOL, it's Florida and hockey, what do you expect. Link - ( New Window )

which we may have to reconsider now that Gerbe is on the team.
Per J. R. R. Tolkien, hobbits are between 2 and 4 feet tall, the average height being 3 feet 6 inches. A dwarf has an adult height of no more than 4 feet 10 inches. A dwarf is thus, on average, taller than a Hobbit.
And there is this bit from the "LPA" (I didnt know such an organization existed, but they are cute):
Little People of America (LPA) defines dwarfism as a medical or genetic condition that usually results in an adult height of 4'10" or shorter, among both men and women, although in some cases a person with a dwarfing condition may be slightly taller than that. The average height of an adult with dwarfism is 4'0

Hearing NYR to sign Brandon Pirri. One year approx $1.1M
Gotta think a Rangers F trade is a guarantee now

Maybe an apology is in order? I get the fact that you're upset that he didn't post again, but calling the guy a@#hole was uncalled for.
2. Stepan
3. Zucc
4. Kreider
5. Zibanejad
6. Miller
7. Hayes
8. Grabner
9. Pirri
10. Gerbe
11. Fast
12. Jooris
13. Glass
14. Buchnevich
15. Vesey
16. Hrivik
17. Jensen
And Lindberg also, but he'll miss the first month or so of the season
Won't make roster unless it's the 4th line.
Only chance of no trade happening is if Gerbe, Jensen, and/or Jooris get waived. Seems highly unlikely, though.

One thing we do know (or seem to know) is that Nash has all the Canadian teams on his no-trade list so I doubt we see a Nash+ for Trouba deal.
Shattenkirk seems to stick out like a sore thumb as far as seeming availability and our needs.

Haha, good stuff!

Doubt anyone would miss Jooris if he were waived. Already 26.
Gerbe by the way on NYR website listed at 5' 4". I didnt know men were that small. Makes Zuccarello at 5'7" look like Manute Bol.
They aren't. Six foot is the cut-off.

I think technically that's a midget. or a dwarf. One of the two.
