It is great news for Stork, who has a troubling history win concussions including a serious head injury which landed him on injured reserve-designated for return last season. Stork is competing with David Andrews for the starting center job. Aug 8 - 10:39 AM
I remember arguing with some Pats fans about which team drafted the better Center in 2014, the Giants, with Richburg, or the Pats, with Stork.
There quite a few currently silent BBI'ers who were bashing the Giants for taking Richburg in the 2nd round when they could have taken Stork in the 4th.
Last year or the year before it was trading Logan Mankins.
One year is cutting Lawyer Milloy a week before the season.
Another year it was trading Richard Seymour just prior to the season.
Another year he cut Brandon Meriweather just before the 2011 season.
There have been a few others.
I think Bill does it to send a message to his team that no one (except Brady and Gronk) is safe in their position here. Keep everyone on their toes and not be complacent enough to think their job can't be revoked tomorrow.
It's a very unique tactic that for him seems to get the results he wants.

Parcells did the same thing, iirc.
Reading the commentary from Pats fans, Stork had been dealing
"Stork, who was in the process of losing the starting job to 2015 undrafted free agent David Andrews, also got himself booted from a joint practice with the Chicago Bears last week for mixing it up with Bears linebacker Sam Acho."

Malcolm Butler was also kicked out of that practice for fighting with Alshon Jefferey. I hope they cut him too.
RE: Reading the commentary from Pats fans, Stork had been dealing
with a number of concussions, but he was also known to be a hothead.
Conrad O'Connell @conradoconnell
yeah hes had some issues. The whole head butt incident in the AFC Champ game kinda made me sour on him.
Jayson Braddock @JaysonBraddock
concussion history & reportedly having outbursts in practices
Fast Start Dannick @ThatStatBoy
Does this have to do with all the concussions or the fact that he's a bad locker room presence?
Neil Axelrod @NeilAxelrod
Not a stunner if you've paid attention to the Patriots.
Tim Taylor @timtaylor22
not even close to a stunner. Tons of concussions and Andrews has outperformed him. Everyone saw it coming.
interesting thing though is,...they still need a backup center. Backup Center, in my opinion is the 2nd most important backup position on a team, other than QB.
former starting center Bryan Stork" - from Yahoo (for what that's worth)...
"This is now the fifth member of the teams 2014 draft class whom the team has released, including first-rounder Dominique Easley....Knowing when to cut bait on player has become a hallmark of the Bill Belichick regime, and he does it without emotional tie, which is a rare trait in this stubborn NFL."
"The team getting Stork will be getting a one-position player with an extremely tough and surly disposition, but also a player who has been beset by injuries in his brief career."
"This pushes David Andrews to the head of the line now as the starting center. By all accounts so far this training camp, Andrews had outplayed Stork."
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
HELL NO!
Wouldn't he still be subject to the waiver process? If NY wants him, they could put a claim in.

BB is obviously cleaning house on their offensive line.
Also weird considering they have so many issues/injuries there already.....continuity would seem important.

You sir lead an exciting life.
Well, you know, when I'm not climbing mountains or flying around in my wingsuit, I do like to talk about the draft.
BB is obviously cleaning house on their offensive line.

Why would he be disappointed, when he basically fielded a walking mash unit. They played a center at LT for Christ sakes. That is crazy.

They also fired their OL coach too I believe after last season.
They made him an assistant head coach too.
god bless you

Wow. #Patriots didnt cut C Bryan Stork after all they traded him to the #Redskins, source said. That was unexpected.
Would be a smart move if the concussion history is true.
