Lead off double for Sanchez

Stud
such a refreshing team now
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 8/24/2016 5:15 pm : link
Cashman earned his money for sure this year.

I said 25+ HR power for Sanchez would be great, just because that's a shitload for a Catcher. But he's not just hitting homers, he's just ripping these pitches. His ceiling is pretty damn enormous considering he looks solid behind the plate as well.

Gary Sanchez bobble head night.
Good bounce back by Tanaka.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/24/2016 5:44 pm : link
6 shutout innings.
Tanaka is such a smart pitcher
Kyle in NY : 8/24/2016 5:46 pm : link
the injury took away that dynamic velocity but he's so good with changing speed and deceiving hitters.
Gary Sanchez has officially made it.

INTENTIONAL WALK #1
Breaking news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tex actually makes them pay. 4-0 Yanks.

Rough day for Judge at the plate
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/24/2016 5:56 pm : link
...
... as does Judge.
Del Shofner : 8/24/2016 5:57 pm : link
In fairness, that pitcher is hitting 100+.
shame this team just can't rip off that 10 game winning streak
Stu11 : 8/24/2016 6:02 pm : link
like it seems like every other contender in the AL is taking turns doing. They really are fun to follow now. The future definitely seems bright.
Tanaka is probably done for the day but 7 shutout innings
Del Shofner : 8/24/2016 6:07 pm : link
are nice.
Stu11....

true photoguy
Stu11 : 8/24/2016 6:11 pm : link
and with playing the AL East most of the rest of the way it would be a sweet time for that winning streak!
I think the only
Photoguy : 8/24/2016 6:21 pm : link
thing holding this team back, may be the starting pitching. Need to have Pineda finally find a groove, and stay in it.
Sadly, I think that Pineda is what his record shows.
yatqb : 8/24/2016 6:26 pm : link
His command on his fastball is not very good, his slider is always out of the zone, and guys just sit on that fastball and hammer him. He has no out pitch, as far as I can see...thus his difficulties with two outs and men on.
Really, really hope that
Mark C : 8/24/2016 6:29 pm : link
Greg Bird comes back as good as he was pre-injury. They were saying on the radio broadcast that he's going to play in the Arizona Fall League, so recovery must be on shedule... This team is going to be a shit-ton-o'fun to watch next year.
yea I think by a certain point a guy is what he is
Stu11 : 8/24/2016 6:29 pm : link
sure there's guys like Arrieta that suddenly explode intoi an ace, but I agree on Pineda hard to see where that stuff is going to make the leap.
Completely forgot about Bird.
Dave in Hoboken : 8/24/2016 6:39 pm : link
Man, this team is going to be loaded with young studs next season.
He's on deck

Well,
Photoguy : 8/24/2016 6:43 pm : link
that'd make the Montero trade a total wash. Other than the few wins the team got out of him.
Teix is a black hole.

Swings at two inside and low and looks at one down the middle.
Yep, Judge has trouble with

low and away, especially breaking balls/offspeed.
good win,

These young guys just don't give up. They are kicking ass.
Not for nothing, but
section125 : 8/24/2016 7:03 pm : link
is Hicks starting to hit consistently? He was 2-4 today. BA up to .215 (bfd) but seems to be getting better wood on the ball.
Nothing like a bunch of young
Beer Man : 8/24/2016 7:08 pm : link
hungry, and talented prospects with everything to prove and nothing to lose to re-energize a boring lethargic team.

Not great by .253 for the past month. slugging sucks .434.

Exactly. I had pretty much stopped watching them until all this happened, now I'm trying to catch every game.
According to YES

That was Girardi's 800th win as Yankee manager.

To think that Hal was worried that the fans would lose interest if the team went on a fire sale.
We are two to three years away
dune69 : 8/24/2016 7:35 pm : link
but it will be a fun ride. Our minor league management is getting stronger which will allow our kids to move quicker. We will need some strategic free agents, but that can't be the priority. Possibly a stud pitcher and a stud in the middle of the order. We must be patient and enjoy the ride.
2-3 years away?
djm : 8/24/2016 7:39 pm : link
They are pretty close right now. They will be even better next season. Yanks should be a dangerous team in 2017 with a smart move or two this offseason.
This is what I am looking forward too

They will need to improve starting and relief pitching

Today showed that Judge has a hole in his plate coverage tha he has to fix.
Isn't Mitchell
shelovesnycsports : 8/24/2016 9:51 pm : link
ready for the Bigs? Doesn't he have big league stuff? Wasn't he part of the rotation in Spring Training until he got hurt? Got to be Better than watching Pineda?

Okay - I'll add in one for fun.

1 Mateo 2b
2 DiDi 3b
3 Fraiser lf
4 Harper rf/dh
5 Sanchez c
6 Judge rf/dh
7 Bird 1b
8 Torres ss
9 CF pick one we have a ton of them.

This lineup could really happen in 2019 - just two more seasons. Could you imagine if these guys all played up to their potential and then threw Harper in the mix?
Torreyes
PaulN : 8/25/2016 9:19 am : link
Stating the obvious when I say that this kid needs to play every day, no reason at all to play the piece of shit Headley. Torreyes has shown more enthusiasm after a few good games then Headley has shown since he got here. It is hard to remember a player as nothing as Headley.
