Special Teams Coordinator Tom Quinn

August 24, 2016

Q: What do you see out of Randy Bullock?

A: It's really been just one day. He finally got the chance to work with the operation, the two different snappers and the whole line being in there, so that's a little bit different. Hopefully we can get him comfortable with the operation so he can show what he can do. We liked him, we played against him late last year, so we had tape and we had to face him when he was kicking off and field goals, and obviously he did a good job last year, so we’re anxious to see what he can do.

Q: Do you expect him to handle most of the duties on Saturday?

A: We'll give them both work because it'll be a competition, so we'll give them both work.

Q: Do you look at it like he's just competing for the opening day job or...?

A: No, I think with everyone up until the final cuts, and after the final cuts, you're going to scout the waiver wire and you're going to see who the 53 best players for this team are at whatever position. You try and make yourself the best possible you can be. It’s always open for competition.

Q: Have you talked much to Josh Brown about what's been going on and the publicity...?

A: Not at all. He hasn't brought it up and I haven't brought it up, so we've kind of left it at that.

Q: What have you noticed from him?

A: From Randy or from Josh?

Q: From Josh, what has he been like?

A: He's been the same type of guy; I haven't noticed anything different.

Q: How tough of a spot is this for you? You don't have your kicker, at least for week one, and kind of have to...?

A: Well, you really don't know who you’ve got for Week One right now. There are some times that it gets thrown kind of upside down on you when the 53 comes out and so, as special teams coordinator, you're always rolling with the punches and adjusting to see what you’ve got and how you'll put it together to fit a team together on the first day.

Q: You know Josh very well, you spent many years with him now. How surprised were you to hear this or were you?

A: It came out like a year ago, so it's kind of been lingering, but you know obviously, everyone is against it.

Q: You knew about the incident, he told you about that?

A: He told the organization and it came down to me.
