Q: Everybody knows football is a physical game, how important is it for you to show your pro coaches how you respond and bounce back from being out of practice a couple of days?

A: Very important. Very important for sure. You want to show your teammates that you’re a physical player and you can play in this league.

Q: How have you been feeling since you came back?

A: Feeling better every day.

Q: Do you have to do anything to maintain it?

A: Just a little rehab.

Q: Is that a daily routine now?

A: Right.

Q: Saw you had a pretty good workout before the game. If that was a regular season game would you have been able to play on Saturday?

A: I could’ve tried, but I wouldn’t have been 100 percent.

Q: Do you feel like you’re 100 percent now?

A: Close. I’m getting closer.

Q: Can you talk a little bit about the learning curve throughout the camp? Some of the things you’ve picked up on the most?

A: Just picking up the playbook. Picking up offenses and how they want to attack our defense. Little things like that.

Q: What do you want to get out of Saturday’s game?

A: I want to play well. I want to help the team win. That’s the biggest thing. We have to get a W.

Q: How concerning is it when a rookie, when anyone misses time it’s not good, but when a rookie misses time do you feel like you’re almost missing two days for every one? Is it tough?

A: It’s tough. I don’t like watching. I haven’t really done that too much. I was just in there rehabbing hard trying to get back out there.

Q: How much do you try and take out of watching, observing and talking?

A: I just try and get my mental reps. Just act like I’m out there and see what I would do and think about that. It’s tough watching. I’m glad I’m back.

Q: What’s the tougher part, rehabbing the physical part or the mental challenge of not getting impatient?

A: The mental thing. Just trying to stay patient. When you get back to 100 percent, to trust yourself when you get out there to go full speed.

Q: What do you really feel that you’re missing when you’re not out there?

A: You’re missing reps; you’re missing game reps that are valuable. You want to get those reps before games because practice definitely makes you better.

Q: Given that feeling, how great was the feeling on that pick in the corner of the end zone? You really went after that ball.

A: It wasn’t too great because we got an offside called on us so technically it wasn’t a pick. It felt good being out there with my team and being able to make those plays.

Q: There’s a lot of talk about you maybe playing in the slot. It looks like you’ll be playing mainly in the left corner spot. Has it helped that you haven’t had to bounce around during camp?

A: It’s helped because you can just focus on one thing and just master what the coaches are trying to tell you to do. I pride myself still on being versatile. If they ask me to go in the slot, I’ll definitely do it 100 percent. Right now I’m just trying to master outside corner.

Q: Do you think it would have been a big undertaking to have to do both of those at the same time?

A: A little bit. It’s a tough thing to do. A tough thing to remember the playbook and all the adjustments you have to make. I think I would’ve been able to do it. It’s just a matter of getting the reps.

Q: Have you gotten more reps than you’ve expected? Obviously there’s two established guys ahead of you on the depth chart and you’ve been out there a ton.

A: We all get a lot of reps. Sometimes it’s tough to get them because there’s only one group out there. One [group] so it’s tough to get everyone the same type of reps. But we do a good thing with the rotation and everything. Whenever someone is tired or whatever, we’ll always get someone in there. I’ll rotate in with DRC or if Jackrabbit [Janoris Jenkins] isn’t feeling 100 percent I’ll get a rep. It’s good, it’s a good rotation keeping everyone fresh.

Q: Spagnuolo says he thinks you’re coming around pretty fast, maybe even faster than they thought. What do you make of that and how do you think you’ve accomplished that?

A: I’m proud of myself on picking up the playbook. I don’t think I’m making too many mental mistakes. I just want to play fast out there. That’s the main thing for me. We’ll see come Saturday how my development has been. That’s something I definitely want to show to everyone.

Q: Are you looking forward to possibly getting some reps against guys like Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker and what is it about them that is a test for you?

A: They’re two of the best combo receivers out there in the league for sure. Brandon Marshall is a big physical guy. Decker is a great route runner and is also pretty physical. They’re definitely going to help get us ready for the season. The third preseason game is very important for us to play well because most of the starters are going to be out there for the first half and a little bit of the third quarter. We definitely want to pick it up, make those necessary adjustments from the last couple weeks and do our thing.

Q: Do you have anything that compares to what you think you’re going to face in Marshall in particular?

A: We play the Cowboys the first game and they’re similar. Marshall and Dez Bryant are similar when it comes to their physical traits. It’s definitely going to be a good challenge for us and we’re looking forward to it.
Pretty good read...

would have loved one more follow-up question about his injury. Has he ever had an injury that he can compare this one too, so that he has a real idea of how to rehab it correctly or how his body might respond to treatment?
