Watching those, every one the catcher is set up outside but the ball comes back over the middle. Have to pitch him outside because he's a pull hitter. But he's crushing mistakes over the plate.
As discussed in yesterday's game thread, Judge seems to have a hole in his plate coverage, low and away, right now. Watching those HRs, Sanchez doesn't seem to have that hole. He somehow reaches out for balls and still clobbers them.
and I am actually disappointed about this. That's how you know they have something here. Can't even remember the last time I cared about the Yankees having an off night.
So if they go outside, I guess it's gotta be down and away.
How long until he gets drilled? Someone's going to try to back him off the plate, pitching inside being apparently safer than outside.
Would that be "bad" in the James Brown sense of the word...?
