Looking for some thoughts on a trade proposed to me.
I've posted my team before, but I think you need to see it again to evaluate the trade.
12 team PPR. We start 2RB and up to 4 WRs with no TE and two flex.
QB: Romo/RG3/Prescott
RB: Gurley/Abdullah/Starks/D.Washington/K.Barner
WR: Beckham/Watkins/Cooper/Landry/M.Jones/D.Funchess/M.Thomas/V.Cruz
the trade is I send Watkins for Carlos Hyde
For the record, Carlos Hyde went in the 2nd round and I took Watkins in the 3rd (keeper league so that's somewhat skewed).
I'm considering it, I think it strengthens my team.
Any thoughts about it?
Eli
Bell
Foster
Jennings
Riddick
Green
Evans
Landry
Gordon
Coleman
Sharpe
Ertz
Gano
Pats
Lacy looks good.

I'm firmly on the Lacy train this year. I think he's going to have his best season.
Luck
Lacy/Langford
Cooks/Decker
Gronk
Flex- Jeremy Hill
D- Texans
K Vinatieri
Bench
Bortles
T Coleman
D. Parker
Matthews
T. Austin
D. Henry
Gore
I like it, Jordan Matthews?

took Lacy and then Gronk, Cooks for some reason fell. I'm still scared of scouring the waiver wire for RB's so we probably took Lacy too high but he's looking good in preseason and still only 26.

I mean he got fat, not ideal but I see some people acting like he randomly slowed down.

Yeah Jordan Matthews. I don't recall exactly who was there at WR at that point but it was mostly 3rd WR/really old guys so we rolled the dice. I'm not one of those guys who won't have an Eagle or cowboy on my team. If they play the Giants I cheer for the Giants, if the Giants are up or down big and my guy does something that doesn't impact W/L for the Giants, I cheer for that too.. sue me lol

He trimmed down a bit and looks like he's in better shape this year. He still has a little bit of a gut but last year he was huge. He still has a lot of good ball ahead of him.

I have Dez Bryant, Tony Romo on my teams this year and had Matthews last year.
I was just curious if it was Ryan or Jordan. And then I saw Ryan is spelled with one T, so the question was irrelevant.
Yeah, I like Murray but you can't trust coach speak. I remember Miami talking about getting Miller more carries.

I've said this to you before and I'll say it again, you don't need to panic. I fully expect Watkins to be a great WR this year with Taylor taking the next step in his progression. There is a lot of risk with Hyde.
1. Never had success(in his first 2 years, he hasn't run for over 500 yards yet).
2. Real bad passing game, with a bad offense.
3. Has the injury prone label.
If it's me, I wait a few weeks to make a move out of desperation.
Fair points. Only I don't view this as desperation. I'm actually interested in seeing Hyde in Chip Kelly's offense, I had him last year too, I should have traded him after week 1 (160 yards and 2 TD's or something like that).
You don't have to trade for him to see him in that offense. I think it's a bad move for you and even though you are saying it's not, it's desperation. You don't need to trade for a RB right now just because you have desirable WR's. I expect Watkins(3rd year WR) to make another step towards his ceiling. He's an ascending WR playing with an ascending QB. I would not even consider taking this chance for the hope that Hyde steps up his game, which there has been no indication will happen.
horrible defense
some other options.
Cooks had a big time 2nd half of the year last year, and is Brees favorite target by far. I got a feeling he goes for 1,200 plus and close to 12 TDs.

draft on Sunday and we're allowed to bring in paper but all phones/computers need to be kept outside the draft room. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what might be good to print out to give me some baseline player rankings to work from?

Cooks has all the makings of a perennial 100+ catch a season type player. He's like Edelman but got his chance much earlier.
And yeah, I just compared a black athlete to a white athlete. That just happened.

Cooks had 1138 yards and 9 Td's last year, so I don't think that incremental improvement is out of line at all. It might even be a disappointment if he doesn't hit those projections.

Like your WR's a lot.. not a fan of the RB situation, though. Peterson is a horse but don't really like Gore as a RB2. Bench is weak as well.. Michael won't be much of a factor as long as Rawls is healthy and McKinnon and Ware probably only are startable if Peterson/Charles are injured.
Shouldn't they be the same?
I mean if they project a player to get more fantasy football points wouldn't they be rated higher than a guy with less points projected?

Why don't you like gore? Just because of age? I think he's being severely undervalued. I was planning on nabbing him with my 7th round pick as I don't have a 6th rounder but he's seen a bit of a bump recently. I'd honestly feel tons more comfortable of taking gore in round 6 than Anderson/Hyde in rounds 3-4. He was a much more reliable fantasy player last season (and his whole career) than those two.
I guess if you think this is the year gore falls completely off a map. But as of now, a lot more is expected to go right for Hyde and CJ from last season and a lot is expected to go wrong for gore to make up the difference in ADP. It just seems like too much of projecting in opposite directions for those players.
I wouldn't feel comfortable with him as my RB2 and little to no other depth behind him.
I'll let him prove me wrong on someone else's roster.
I don't base my opinions on what these guys did last year, it's what I think they'll do this year and at 33 years old and top 15 (or close to it) in NFL history all time carries I don't want to be left holding the bag when father time comes calling.
Other options I'd rather roll with than Gore.
I'd rather draft Marvin Jones where he is going than Tate at his ADP.

hope it's not a money league
Fitzgerald is always solid and I think Kelvin Benjamin will have a big year if he can stay healthy. Travis Benjamin put up points in Cleveland and Rivers will go deep to him, with Morgan coming back in week 5. Rishard Matthws had a very good year in Miami last year, and Mariota doesn’t have many other options.
I am a bit worried about Wilson starting slow, but I got him in the 6th round, with Brady coming back in week 5 if he falters.
Hopefully Eifert only misses a couple weeks but I think he will be fine once thet happens but I may need to play the waiver wire until then, although supposedly Winston likes Brate so he may be ok until that point.
for some reason 8 WRs taken and another guy loved Elliot behind that line. The other guy took Gronk, he was preaching about the difference between Gronk and the 12th best TE compared to other positions
Both Benjamin's are highly TD dependent and are likely to be very inconsistent scorers this year, with low floors when they don't score TDs. Fitzgerald had a great first half last year, but much of that time was when Floyd was fighting back from his hand injury. Fitz had 1 TD and 1 100 yard game in the 2nd half.
Your RBs will keep you competitive, but unless the Benjamins suddenly become 80+ catch guys you will struggle to beat the teams that loaded up on high volume WRs early.
Michael got cut by the same Seahawks team last year with worse other RB options than they have now, was picked up by Dallas who had major injury issues at the position and still couldn't crack the field.
Rawls is the man there unless he's injured.
Reports on Michael are that he’s having a fantastic preseason so far and they really like him. 24 carries for 157 yards. Depends if Rawls can stay healthy as well, he hasn’t played yet this preseason.
I get it and have no problem with you picking Michael, only saying "Michael will get the main carries" is just deluding yourself IMO unless Rawls is injured.
