Tend to think Sather signed over aged vets to very large contracts that hurt us in the long run. Don't recall him giving out to many 1 year 1 million dollar deals.
thinking about Drury, Redden, Holik, GOMEZ makes my skin crawl. At least they salvaged the Gomez deal by getting McD. There's more terrible signings in there as well I just don't want to think about it.

Acquiring former high picks on the cheap has worked out well for the franchise - Brian Boyle, Pouliot.
And Pirri has had a few solid years of production.
