Had my 12 team .5 PPR draft last night. Team is
QB Luck, Eli
RB Charles, L. Miller, Duke Johnson, Powell
WR Watkins, Hilton, Maclin, Floyd, Funchess
TE Witten
K Carolina
D NYJ
I love Charles this year. I see me taking him in both leagues. In my12 team PPR (pick 11) it looks like I might get Green or. Dez and Charles. Unless the dick at 12 take Charles.
that roster sounds about right. Charles and Miller are later 1st round early second rounders. WRs are mide third to fourth rounders. You passed on taking a top TE. I like your team but Charles is a wild card who needs to stay healthy or your season goes up in flames. I would look to get his backup. Also if you can get a better TE look to do it. Maybe trade a QB seeing you can only play one.
I am in a very competitive 12 team PPR league where we start
1 QB
2 RB
3 WR
1 TE
1 RB/WR/TE
1 K
1 D
I pick 12th which is really first after keepers. My keeper is Bell. Every mock I have done has been loaded at WR and extremely weak at RB. I will post 2 mock drafts I have done. I have put Bell and Green is as my first two players just so you get an idea of what my team would look like.
Eli
Bell
Foster
Jennings
Riddick
Green
Landry
Evans
Gordon
Coleman
Sharpe
Ertz
Brees
Bell
Jennings
Riddick
Green
D. Thomas
Cooper
Landry
Gordon
Shepard
Sharpe
Ertz
How would you guys feel about those teams if I drafted Elliot instead of Green? I know I can get some really good WRs at my draft position.
You couldn't grab someone better than Witten @ TE? I would scoop him as my TE2 but even if you had waited you probably could have gotten someone a little better.

I would feel better about the 2nd team if you had Elliott instead of Green. I love Green this year but you but Thomas, Cooper and Landry is still a very, very strong 3 and if Gordon comes back and performs like he has in the past you'll still be pretty loaded at WR.
Having depth is great but once it spills over into having to sit a stud on a weekly basis when you're starting someone below average at another position, all it really does it hurt your team.
My auction is tonight. More and more, I'm leaning toward a balanced spending approach with Evans and one of Charles/Miller being my biggest spends. I have a feeling my league is going to be shooting crazy high on the big 3 WRs + Gurley + Johnson.
I like that team more. Bell/Elliott will be a 2 headed monster and you still have plenty of talent at WR. I would probably prefer other players as RB depth but you addressed that. I think that's a better model and will give you a better team.
Yes there are better TE's left than Witten. I took him (gulp) cause of the way he dominates his match up in week 1. Oh boy here it comes. He will probably be waived after that.
On Christine Michael? For what it's worth he's played well in the preseason games along with training camp. Real shot to take over Rawles spot? If Rawles isn't good to go week 1 and Michael steps up do they owe anything to Rawles to keep him as the starter?

I have no idea what the rotation will be like but he can be a very late round pick so it is worth the potential upside.
I still just don't feel good about the SEA RB situation but Rawls is definitely the best player in that backfield. There has been so much hype over Christine Michael for like 3 years now and he never winds up having a big role anywhere. He went to Dallas last year and everyone was like "he's gonna be amazing behind that OL!" and he carried the ball like 3 times a game there for a few weeks and didn't do shit and they got rid of him.
The only way I really have Michael on my radar is if I wind up taking Rawls.

That's how I view it as well.
Did a bunch of mocks yesterday and today. There are some amazing values going late for RB's. Duke Johnson Jr. Jeremy Langford. Ameer Abdullah. Ryan Matthews.
In a lot of my drafts, I'm getting 3 WR's, 1 TE, 1 QB 1 RB and then getting one of those guys in rd 6/7 as my RB2. I'd be very happy with that.
I'm really coming around on Mathews. I know he's always going to be an injury risk but the numbers RB's put up with Pederson in KC were really impressive. Granted, Charles is an amazing RB and a lot of that was him but their run game still performed at a high level last year even after he was hurt. Paired with the fact that the Eagles QB situation is going to be in flux, I think they're going to really need to lean on the run game. Mathews should get a lot of opportunities as long as he can stay on the field.
I think I prefer Crowell a couple rounds later than DJJr. As of now, it sounds like Duke is really just a 3DRB and won't be getting many other touches but obviously that could change.

Definitely agree about Langford. He played well when Forte was out last year and I think he gets most of the carries.
is Winston. He's got a good cast around him, he's been improving since his first game and he works hard. Looks like he's very focused this season, I think he could have a breakout season.

Winston went early in both my leagues. Earlier than I expected. I like him too.
One thing Jay has me thinking about with Osweiler is they don't really have a goal line back and have some god talent at receiver and with Miller catching passes. He might be a better option than Flacco, but it's Flacco or Osweiler IMO.
Need to figure that out and maybe look to trade a WR 5 or 6 like Funchess for maybe someone's backup QB.
Dez over Marshall, Nelson or Evans? I think he falls to me now the second round but I don't know if I take him unless he falls to me at the end of the 3rd round.

I think I can get better depth at RB during my draft.
I think Evans is going to be a monster.

no ppr.
Would definitely be happy with this if Rawls ends up being the main guy in Sea.
Which QB should I pick up to replace Romo:
1. Flacco
2. Cutler
3. Osweiler
4. Smith
5. Garroppolo
6. Cutler
7. Siemian
8. Gabbert
9. Bradford
Yes, I have Preskott. I kind of like him, especially in a keeper league in round 17.
Winston went early in both my leagues. Earlier than I expected. I like him too.

No. Earliest I pick up Dez now is in the 3rd.
