NFT: Yanks vs O's afternoon delight

Neckbone1333 : 8/27/2016 1:44 pm
1-0 yanks - bottom of 2nd

Green got out of 1 out, bases loaded jam in 1st by striking out Schoop and Alvarez.

Has 4 K's already and the ump, Ron Coleman, behind the plate, has robbed him of 3 strikes so far. Brutal.

I think he is safe
Rob in CT/NYC : 8/27/2016 2:15 pm : link
Less sure it gets overturned.
Umps over turn it.
Dave in Hoboken : 8/27/2016 2:16 pm : link
Woohoo!
McCann!!!
Dave in Hoboken : 8/27/2016 2:17 pm : link
Another run.
They overturn it!
dpinzow : 8/27/2016 2:18 pm : link
Yanks take the lead. Apparently Didi pulled his left arm out of the way to avoid the tag and got his right hand in before the tag.

McCann doubles down the LF line and it's 4-2
He was safe

Sanchez with another HR.
Dave in Hoboken : 8/27/2016 2:37 pm : link
I mean, is this real life?
Reminds me of Jeremy Lin days
djm : 8/27/2016 2:40 pm : link
Just one of those ridiculous 2-3 week periods in NYC sports. The stuff of lefgends. I'd think Sanchez has much more staying power plus it's the Yankees they are a blessed organization. Good things baby...
He is just insane right now.
nygmen84 : 8/27/2016 2:40 pm : link
Wow.
Sanchez is unbelievable!!
GiantJake : 8/27/2016 2:41 pm : link
Gun down a base runner (who got a great jump by the way!) and follow it up with another HR. El Gary!
I know Arod had some homers left in him for sure
DennyInDenville : 8/27/2016 2:42 pm : link
But man letting him go was really a good thing. Not too mention the deadline trades that haven't even rewarded us yet

Management really is looking amazing right now
Sanchez is fulfilling the promise
Stan in LA : 8/27/2016 2:42 pm : link
He was projected as a 17 year old.

Johnny Bench reincarnated.
Damn it Chad Green
DennyInDenville : 8/27/2016 2:43 pm : link
Chill man

Taking Green out like that lol.

The right call for sure tho
Sanchez fastest player to hit 11 HRs
Dave in Hoboken : 8/27/2016 2:52 pm : link
in MLB history.
Plus he his first 3 games 0 HRs
DennyInDenville : 8/27/2016 2:53 pm : link
Makes it even crazier!!!
Johnny Bench is a good comparison
dune69 : 8/27/2016 2:53 pm : link
during this hot streak. He also reminds me a little of Miggy Cabrera with his plate discipline and power to all fields. He will always be dangerous at the plate with the skills he is showing. His defense and work with the pitchers is a big plus.
Castro goes deep!!!!!!!!!
Dave in Hoboken : 8/27/2016 2:57 pm : link
Fuck yeah!
Hitting is contagious
dune69 : 8/27/2016 3:00 pm : link

Hicks goes deeeeep!
Dave in Hoboken : 8/27/2016 3:01 pm : link
Do the O's hear the footsteps yet?

:)
AARON HICKS!!!! 2 run bomb!
DennyInDenville : 8/27/2016 3:01 pm : link
Yup, contagious indeed my friend
Hicks
shelovesnycsports : 8/27/2016 3:02 pm : link
Lol this is fun
MookGiants thinks Castro sucks.
manh george : 8/27/2016 3:02 pm : link
Castro begs to differ.
The ball is just flying today
dpinzow : 8/27/2016 3:04 pm : link
6 HRs in the game today but the Yanks have more of the HRs with men on base
Castro does suck
Rob in CT/NYC : 8/27/2016 3:07 pm : link
Unfortunately.
Castro doesn't suck
RasputinPrime : 8/27/2016 3:10 pm : link
he isn't an premium player but he does alot well.

9-4 and Sanchez takes a nice walk.

Is he the best 2nd baseman in baseball...no. He doesn't suck though. He has 1100+ hits at age 26. The one thing he still has to work on is plate discipline
Castro going to hit 20-25 HR's this year
Stan in LA : 8/27/2016 3:13 pm : link
With good D at 2nd.

That's not sucking.
i'd like to know
RasputinPrime : 8/27/2016 3:13 pm : link
how Sanchez managed to put it all together this year. With how he looks - factoring out hot streak inflation - I don't see how he wasn't being hyped alot more than he was.

He's been hyped for 5-6 years now. But attitude/maturity problems seem to be a block. Nevertheless, he been a top 25/50 player during that time so there's that.
Fields his position reasonably
Rob in CT/NYC : 8/27/2016 3:15 pm : link
Well - has the plate discipline of Alphonso Soriano, without the power. 90 OPS+ , probably only about 20+ better 2B in the league.

Yup, he sucks.

If I trusted you to identify what sucks, you would have changed your posting style years ago.

And yes, it's possible to hit 20-25 HRs and suck...figure it out.
if the warrior has a hard-on for Castro
RasputinPrime : 8/27/2016 3:21 pm : link
i'm willing to buy into the possibility that he can stick as our everyday 2B and deserve the spot. We really only need him to play good D and hit 7/8th.
