Has been hitting great lately, Paul O"Niell pointed out his at bats with runners in scoring position, I would not say this kid won't be the yanks second baseman for a long time, this kid is just taping in to his potential, he is 26, writing off players when they are 26 is moronic.
Sanchez was hyped big time when the Yanks first got him. Like some have said, Johnny Bench, the whole thing was if they were going to be able to get him to be a good receiver. he worked hard and obviously he has become an excellent receiver. But he has been nicked up at times and he gets off to bad starts hitting wise. He finally has put it all together, it looked like he put it together the end of last season in the minors, then spring training comes and he is off to a horrible start as usual. He was heating up in the minors but nothing like this, he comes here and puts his entire game together, Unreal is the only word to use.
There could be an Orioles position player pitching

Actually, ignoring his 4000 plate appearances and focusing on how he is hitting "lately" is moronic, but proceed.
Would have been fun if they had pinch hit Judge here

As it might have been with many players who fixed issues at the old age Castro is at....

Technical, but worth the read about why it's rare for plate discipline to improve over time. Plate Discipline - ( New Window )
rare? ok. i'm not expert. Paul might know more about hitting than either of us and he has optimism. I prefer to hope all Yankees players will reach their potential and improve. I know - weird.

Not weird, but after 4,000 ABs we kind of know what Castro is and what is his potential. My preference is for the Yankees to acquire quality players and avoid paying $40 million to a less than average - offensively - infielder - crazy, right?
But Tyler Austin needs to run there. At the very least to break up the double-play, but he would've been safe here. Not something I want to see a first-year player doing.

Yeah, I got nothin'.
He is eminently replaceable, and should be...
McCann having a nice day. 2 hits the opposite way. Nice to see.
Good piece of hitting!!
11-4 Yanks
Get the brooms out tomorrow

Buck was pissed off LITERALLY 5 minutes after the game started.
Only weakness is Flash and Rucco IMO.
Then Bob Lorenz has to be the best in the business in the studio, I miss when he would call some games instead of Rucco
No doubt, that didn't look good at all
Let's hope so.
The @Yankees have outscored the Orioles 27-9 in the last two games.
