Any word or discussion on his zero carries? Did he play at all on offense? Special teams? I didn't see the game so all I have to go on is the ESPN stat sheet.
Macadoo I think was shown enough by Williams bouncing a few runs for nice gains outside vs the dolphins. I think Williams stays. I don't get the fascination with Rainey though. He looks pretty ordinary to me. I'd almost prefer Darkwa over him but doubt it happens (especially since Rainey plays specials).
enough this off-season. Even the media has been impressed. This was all about Darkwa and Rainey today after Jennings and Vereen were done.
I expect Darkwa, Rainey and Perkins next week. Personally I would throw Jennings out there too. He hasn't look very well this preseason but somehow he gets the excuse of poor blocking. A lot of negative runs and stuffs at the LOS.
Like I said Williams has shown the most out of the RBs behind much of the same line as the others. Giants beat writers have been stating this so far.
It should be Jennings, Vereen, Darkwa, and Perkins making the squad. I think Williams needed to show more in preseason games 1 and 2 to prove that there wasn't going to be a repeat of seasons 1 and 2 out of him. But the coaches certainly have a better view than I do so I'll do them the favor of letting them decide.

You got to tell me what you saw from Jennings because I didn't see jack shit from him to be honest. I personally think he is cut material. He catches the ball and excels in garbage time but is also prone to fumbling. His best runs came last season in garbage season time. Someone will have to tell me why his 2015 garbage runs were better than William garbage runs in 2014.
And Darkwa? Hell Williams has had a better preseason on ST than Darkwa. If you were hoping that ST would save him, well tonight wasn't the night for him. That block punt ... oh boy.

They didn't need to see anything from Jennings, they know what they have in him. He played a lot better in 2014 and2015 than you give him credit for. The big issue with him is his ability to stay healthy for a full season.

What did Williams do on special teams that impressed you? Did he even play special teams today? And if not, why not? He only had 4 snaps on specials last week compared to 11 for Darkwa. If Williams was the favorite for the 53-man roster, don't you think it would be smart to give him as much time on specials as possible?

Williams was good on coverage while on ST enough to get notice by announcers. Darkwa is suppose to be a ST guy had several missed tackles tonight and a big time miss block which led to a block punt near the Giants end zone.
Williams got more snaps at RB than Darkwa in the first two games and more yardage per carry.

"Yeah, he's sleeker, definitely sleeker. Has a little more burst," said McAdoo last weekend. "He seems to be a man on a mission, so it's nice to see him respond with some carries last week. Let's see how he responds moving forward."
A mission to do what, he was asked.
"I think he wants to touch the ball," said McAdoo, who then commented on what he saw differently in Williams last Friday night.
"I think there were a couple of shots of him dipping in and running out, and showing nice burst there on the perimeter," he said. "Put his pads down, ran behind his pads. He's always done that, though, he's always been able to move piles, he's just a little sleeker now."
Don't know what to tell ya. Tonight was suppose to be big for Darkwa. And it wasn't.
I just think Darkwa has the most talent/upside. Williams was pitiful last year. Anyone who thinks he was no worse than Jennings or Darkwa is in denial. The biggest knock on Darkwa was his inability to stay healthy. He needed to show in training camp and games that he could take a licking and keep on ticking and he seems to have managed that.
Hard to tell what the coaches are thinking, but I'll be more excited if it's Darkwa who remains than if it's Williams. I wish Perkins had given us more to be excited about.
but for Rainey's run late game last week, who RB performed well behind the offensive offensive line. Milton, you seem wed to last year's AW w/o acknowledging his work to change his game. No one is betting the ranch on drastic production improvement, but your seeming dug-in stance is a bit uncharacteristic of you, imo.
Not a good showing from Darkwa, and I like the guy

I just never really bought into the idea that losing a few pounds and "working" on catching the ball was actually going to make much of a difference with him. I might've been more optimistic if this was following his rookie year, but after two years in the league my gut tells me that he is who he is, which is nothing special. He's been playing football his whole life, he isn't going to suddenly learn how to catch the ball at the age of 24.
Darkwa looked to have more potential based on last year's limited carries, but he also had difficulty staying on the field, so that's a significant concern.

Of course you can learn to catch a ball. If it was never part of your game, then you need to practice it. Will he ever be Tony Galbreath or Dave Megget? No. But he can be functional/competent. Yes

The guy is a RB, why wasn't it part of his game? It's not like he's an OL switching to TE, he played a position in which pass-catching would always be an asset and yet he never got good at it. I'm sure it's been something he's been working on his whole life. He'd have to be an idiot for it not to be.
And don't tell me it wasn't part of the Boston College offense. If they didn't throw him the ball at BC it was because they knew he couldn't catch it, plain and simple. He is always going to limit what the offense can do. It will be no different in the NFL than it was in college.
