Q: Andre Williams didn’t have a snap in the first half yesterday. Was there a reason for that, as far as the fumble in Buffalo, or you wanted to see more of somebody else? What can you attribute that to?
A: It was a part of the plan, as far as we wanted to take a look at different players and some different situations. You know, it just happened to fall that way.
Players were given opportunities before Tuesday cut day and some did not take advantage of them.
It is not know[n] how long LaCosse will be out. He might end up on season-ending Injured Reserve or short-term Injured Reserve.
I thought there was just one IR list, and that teams could reactivate one player from it during the season. Is there still a distinction between players who can be reactivated vs. those who are done for the year? Does it have to do with whether they are on the initial 53-man roster?
RE: OK coach everything with the uOline is correctable? Â
Then why the hell is it still not corrected? What are you waiting on?
Because each healthy starter, might have had 30-40 snaps thus far and that it takes time..Time to build continuity..The CBA did the NFL players no favor

Blogs -- you have to designate "for return" on the IR -- so there's IR and IR Designated For Return
the designated to return IR is a really short list - might only be one player, so the team will likely wait on LaCosse to make a decision. He's probably not the guy you want to designate for return if a starter gets injured for 6-8 weeks between now and the start of the season.
Or even once the regular season starts. It will be likely he'll go on the full-blown IR.
it's unfortunate but highly unlikely that LaCosse is tagged with the "return" sub-tag, because they all seem more or less replaceable clones of one another, except we as fans hardly know what the team has in LaCosse. And as FM says, you wait to see if a core player goes down with a short term injury

actually -- Blogs is right -- the NFL changed the rule this year -- there is only IR -- and teams are allowed to bring one player back off of IR without a designation Link - ( New Window )
I still think it should be a longer list of say 3 players, but it makes it better if you can choose from the entire pool instead of making the decision when the guy gets injured since it was such a restrictive list.
in the new IR rule is this: The league changed the injured reserve with return designation so that you no longer have to designate the player ahead of time. Previously you had to
designate at the time of putting him on IR.
BTW, LaCosse is not type of player you use this rule on.
A 3rd or 4th TE, I would tend to doubt it. You use this rule
on a valuable player on your roster.

Hence its new nickname, "The Romo Rule." ;o)
I'm still not clear on whether the player who returns is required to have been on the 53-man roster. This might seem like a minor technicality, but it can change the roster management aspect quite a bit.

"Yeah, I'm working with total shit" doesn't come across well in a press conference. He can't say that.

Ben McAdoo says Jonathan Casillas is just sore. Nothing broken.
Earlier reports were he had a cracked rib.
