81_Great_Dane : 8/28/2016 6:00 pm : link
Giants didn't want him, Eagles didn't want him. If there's any light bulb to go on with him, it better get lit fast, or he's going to be missing that fat NFL paycheck.
I'm shocked!

But he was INJURED!!!!

Man, I dont get many things right. But I nailed Randle as a bum from year 1.
Wow
Bluesbreaker : 8/28/2016 6:04 pm : link
Not a total shock but it's pretty clear that he has some
talent but he is dropping like a rock .
I mean if you never saw the guy play and just went by
his numbers he should be starting somewhere ....
I am glad they let him walk ...
The non-homer Philadelphia media were absolutely killing him all

And another player drafted from the Giants recently that might or might not make it to his 2nd contract; and this one won't be due to injury. 2nd rounder, too.

And given what we've seen so far, will dump him quick.

When will they begin giving Eli some credit? He made a bum like Randle look like a NFL caliber receiver, and he couldn't crack the 70 on the Eagles.

Just not a

good player. He was a starter for multiple seasons who the team depended on. Eli made him a better player which he does with all his targets.

Many had the opinion that it would be difficult to replace his production and that he would get nabbed by another team if the Giants let him go. the league rendered its verdict on his play when there was zero market this off season. Now he is cut and his career is over.

One of my least favorite Giants ever.
Don't think the guy

Wow, that was fast. I figured it would take the Eagles
Jimmy Googs : 8/28/2016 7:49 pm : link
until at least Week 2 before they cut him.

Look, bottom line is he is misunderstood. Just because he is quiet and slow and late to meetings and doesn't study and can't beat press coverage and runs poor routes and doesn't particularly block well and doesn't lay out for balls DOES NOT MEAN HE DOESN'T CARE!

Now, lets not even kick the tires and just bring this guy back tomorrow morning and give him a jersey...

Green-Beckham has me worried. He has talent and he's 6'5". I know he's young and the Titans gave him away for backup tackle, (even though he was their 2015 2nd round pick), but the way he caught the fade TD from Bradford reminded me of Plaxico Burress. He reached up and grabbed the ball with both hands while the defender could only look up. It won't be easy for either Apple (6'1") or RC (6'2") to cover him.
The amazing thing is that the Eagles didn't even wait until cutdown
PatersonPlank : 8/28/2016 10:57 pm : link
day, which I believe is Wednesday. They couldn't even wait 3 days. What kind of signal does that send? There must be more here than his normal lousy play.

He was alway talented, that was never the issue. It's always been between the ears for him, be it focus and ability to learn a playbook or just plain not being a knucklehead. He's going to be on his best behavior for awhile as being traded like that will be a hit to anyone's ego. Let's check back in a few months, once he's settled in and gotten comfortable, once the team loses 3 or 4 straight, etc. Who knows, maybe he'll turn it around and be a pain in the ass for a few years. But it's more likely we see the same old knucklehead.

He does not understand that playbook, he doesn't give effort, and his teammates hate him.

frustrating player to play with, but two separate teams now cutting bait is something, especially when considering his numbers are actually reasonably good. He's averaged 64 catches, 867 yards and 5.5 touchdowns. per season over the last 2 years. I know a lot of it was garbage time, but you would certainly think that kind of production would at least make him a roster lock somewhere.

But yeah, there must be something else with him that is frustrating the hell out of coaches and front offices.

openly rejoiced when Gilbride was fired. Body lean was the running joke. And so ushered in the days of a wine and roses for Randle...or so he promised. He doesn't compete. He doesn't prepare. He doesn't care. He makes a great hire. Philadelphia has drafted a group of underachieving, NBA length-based wide receivers, who blow, and this guy couldn't budge the line.

He joins Barden, Jernigan and all the others who allegedly were being held back by Coughlin and his coaches. Who, once sprung, would assert themselves in a big way with another team. Except, PS, not really.

Even if that was meant to be some kind of joke, Randle was not "killed by" Eli. His own laziness has done himself in once again.
People citing RR's "numbers" with the Giants last season
mfsd : 8/29/2016 8:15 am : link
As evidence he was anything more than a talented but lazy bum is another example of how fantasy football has skewed the way people evaluate football players

The fact his "fantasy" stats weren't that bad last year doesn't mean he was any good. He killed Eli and the offense with stupid mental and lack of effort mistakes several times in big spots.

Didn't take the Eagles long to also figure out he sucks.

Given Coughlin's astute scouting abilities and the fact that he was a WR position coach, I always took TC's judgements on WRs as authoritative.

Are you being serious here? We have a slew of posters - some dupes and trolls like that ghost718 schmuck who use every post to rail against the GM. There are literally at least a dozen accounts of handles who will do nothing but complain about reese. Reese was even bashed during the Josh Brown threads for not having a better option at kicker ready to go when the suspension was announced.

It is such a joke that reese being asleep at the wheel was a common refrain in almost any offseason thread about signing by other teams.
