is no chance he gets cut. Can you imagine a pass rush with OV, JPP, and contributions from OO, Wynn, and Okwara? There's your NASCAR. Plus Hankins and Harrison clogging up the middle. That will really help our LBs and secondary.
I have no idea how he wasn't drafted. He produced in college when he got a starting DE job at ND as a junior and definitely has some burst off the edge
True dat, but if a player has the requisite desire and skillset to learn and perform on the next level, wouldn't he have a decent chance to succeed with, for example, more Gym workouts, gaining/losing weight, better coaching at this level, or whatever his college shortcoming might have been?
He can only play against the people who lined up against him.
Maybe they will insert him a little earlier in the Patriot game ... but, who knows. Yes, he only played against 3rd stringers (or worse), but he did what was expected of him, and that is to dominate them.
With additional coaching and strength training, he could really be something in a year or two.
To be fair Sy. Spags has rotated him and Odi in with the 1st team a lot. One of the things I noticed this preseason is the amount of rotation on the DL line. Bromley since his return gets in with the 1st team.
Notre Dame is playing Podunk U. I imagine the competition is at least average or above. The kid looks like a keeper to me.
Not sure he was referring to college ball when talking about competition, but more the NFL caliber players he has been going against during these preseason games.
has stood out in the games ...
Can never have enough pass rushers I think he is a lock'to make the roster .
It was Great to see Wynn have a nice game as well ...
The turnaround for this defense could be Monumental ..
Now if we could just shore up the depth on the O-line
and get out of the Blocks quick say 5-2 would be my
prediction . I think if we could attain that go into
the Bye week and come out swinging at the Dirty Birds ..

These are good points. He has benefited by playing against excellent college players. He's beating the people that line up against him. That's all he can do. And he's doing it well. This guy is good.

I certainly hope you're right. Have to hope OV gives us double digit sacks and JPP comes to play. But Wynn is JAG as a pass rusher, OO needs to stay healthy and Okwara is a UDFA.
I think we may have a winner here. Can't wait till see him in real games.
That's the key. When he comes into games it will be against those first string nfl players that he hasn't gone against in pre-season and we'll have a better idea of how good he really is.

all the new players and first time starters need to prove themselves.
Asleep at the...

Ignorance. NFL teams use their grading systems. It's not gospel but their opinion is a lot better then yours.

Not ignorance at all..there are some usable stats that NFL teams covet, but mostly they're a pile of shit, imo

No they aren't. They use them for snap counts. Percentage of times in base and sub packages. On both offense and defense.
The only people who use their ratings are lay people who usually don't have any idea what but want to pretend . Just like PFF
