in most any office and 100% of the employees will say they pick up the slack for the slackers. This thread will probably attest to that.

I blow shit off. Someone else will do it. If they do, they are the sucker. There is no carrot on a stick out there. I get paid the same. Used to work crazy hours. Did it get me anything special? Missed time with my family maybe.

Don't be a sucker plus if the work gets done how will they ever know they need more people.

It's a problem of motivation, all right? Now if I work my ass off and Initech ships a few extra units, I don't see another dime, so where's the motivation? And here's something else, Bob: I have eight different bosses right now. Eight, Bob. So that means that when I make a mistake, I have eight different people coming by to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled, that and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Bob, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.

but I am their manager... I did inherited them when I accepted the position.

One employee gives me hope, but the other 2 not so much. I do my best to mentor, coach and help them do their job, but they're either not capable of remembering or just don't care

Yeah, from time to time. At an old job that was the case. The job I have now, the big thing is for some reason, all the newer people think I have to report to them or explain myself to them, which...I never do lol

to make my own team at work and don't rely on anyone or have to do anyone's work anymore, it's awesome. The revenue I'm responsible for since doing this is up almost 30% so something is working.

I became a "supervisor". Everyone wins.
