T.J. Rivera has been demoted to clear the roster spot for Rafael Montero's spot start on Monday against the Marlins. Las Vegas' season ends next Monday, so at a maximum the demotion should last a week - Rubin

Did you happen to notice that I was posting on "your" thread since I was aware of it, not this one? I guess about 10-14 posts in all with some info about roster moves. And you're taking "your" ball and going home home.
Terry Collins said the presumption was all three banged up position players would be ready on Monday, so that's why the Mets were comfortable demoting T.J. Rivera. Collins only learned about 10 minutes ago that Asdrubal Cabrera and Neil Walker would not be ready

Honestly no. Just noticed it had been hours and you still hadn't deleted this one. Figured this was more recent so I deleted the other. Im far from the thread police on BBI but we really didn't need two game threads.
Been called up easily in time for next start after rosters expand? What rationale could they have to keep him here instead of Rivera? Sandy should be smarter than that so I must be missing something. Does the rule about not being able to call someone up after demotion except for injury apply even when the rosters expand?

Im hoping it's to get him some regular atbats for a few days but who knows? I guess they will all be here Sep 1.

The beat writers are saying that Gsellman is going to the BP and some have indicated they can't understand why TJ sent down. Example ...
Michael Mayer
Sending Rivera down instead of a guy who won't be available to pitch for a few days was dumb
Walked quite a few but wasn't really wild. Seemed to not have lost command. Ump gave him zilch on the inside corner. He'll get another start, I assume.
Getting Fernandez out at 5 innings would be a real success. Â

And now you have a pitcher pinch hit. Sandy hamstringing the manager again. I thought he was the adult in the room.

Most the guys on the bench are day to day. Do you really want to lose Walker or Cabrera for 15 days? I know I dont. And do you think he should save Bruce for the late innings in a tie game or use him in the fifth?

What?
The discussion was about sending down a viable bat instead of a pitcher that can't pitch right now and who would be recalled in two days.
T.J. Rivera I guess that's fine but supposedly they feel Gsellman can move to the pen pretty quick. As for the rest of the bench, there wasn't a lot of options.

Jay Bruce and backup catcher Rene Rivera are the healthy bench players. Cabrera may be available as a PH. Neil Walker probably not. - Rubin

lol.
He'll be phased out. It's his last year and we have too many outfielders anyway, assuming Ces returns.
Won't happen with the superb manager Collins in the dugout.
He'll play the veterans no matter how much they suck.

Montero squeezed all night. Fucking umps.
I swear this team is run by clowns.

Probably see Noah later on
