yup, 52 games for Willie in 1959 and he was ROY. He batted .345 with 13 HRs and an OPS a little over 1. Not out of the question for Gary to better those numbers in 55 games - if he keeps it up.

Was better by the numbers, and Joe missed a lot of time with injuries, too.

I'm not sure Mickey was better than Joe. He could have been much, much more. The drinking got in the way.
yup, 52 games for Willie in 1959 and he was ROY. He batted .345 with 13 HRs and an OPS a little over 1. Not out of the question for Gary to better those numbers in 55 games - if he keeps it up.
Haven't been following the other rookies around the league. I guess Story in the NL would get it. Not sure who in the AL.
