... (nee Invest 99L) close to the Tampa area's doorstep. I loved his analysis, breakdown and explanations. I follow the NHC on NOAA and WUnderground, and the local Tampa area news outlets, but Weatherman was the best.
Denny - Disagree. Wind may not be a problem, but depending on how close to just north of Tampa it hits and when (i.e., high tide), it could be a significant flooding problem for a good part of the area with the combo of rain and storm surge. I will probably be OK but there could be problems.
weatherman gave to me. It is the raw models for tropical storms.

As for those saying don't worry about AL99 - remember Katrina was nothing when it popped up in the Bahamas and drifted into the Gulf. It was slowed by another system and percolated in that warm Gulf of Mexico water for a day or two and then wham.
It does not appear to be developing, but if it stalls its motion, be wary. RAL Tropical Cyclone Guidance - ( New Window )

Thanks for posting Capt! Great info on that site, definitely bookmarking that one. And thanks to Weatherman too on behalf of all us weather fans.
but frankly, his forecasts were nothing more than you could get from Accuweather or the NWS.

I'm not going to speak too much for him, but it was a combination of that, the people who gave him shit about the weather info, and the general state of the board where trolls abounded on almost any subject around the start of the year.
More and more posters are taking extended breaks or are gone completely, but we're continually told "all is good".
Tell that to the llama next to you on the ark when Weatherman isn't here to tell you shit is going down!!
Good luck to all on the SE coast. Heads up, New York
and while I agree that the football discussions aren't what they used to be when the site was very small I don't buy that people get more crap thrown at them now than any other time on the forum.
You always had to have a thick skin to stick around here, and actually more so when it was a smaller group, no logging in required, and no rules or guidelines whatsoever.
While not always successful I try my best to be cordial to everyone I respond to because I see no reason not to be that way towards others. But regardless I never have understood why so many let something typed on a message board from someone they don't even know get to them so much. But there is nothing wrong with taking a breather from BBI if one finds himself tiring of this place. I took a long break myself once before returning. I was at one of the busiest points in my life and simply didn't have the time to invest any of myself with posting or reading posts.

Excellent post. What other posters write never bothers me very much. I have only met a handful of people on this board in real life. However, I do find that the forum gets old sometimes. When I have stepped away or posted less frequently, it has almost always been because I became bored of BBI.
Follow him on Twitter he answers meteorological questions

Looks like a lock to hit Florida too as a strong tropical storm.
Hope everything works out well man
I'm not sure, Clams. It may have been the password breach from a while back or it may have been something else... I really don't remember.
Think you're right. Vaguely remember some posters giving him a hard time and deciding not worth the hassle. To bad very informative poster.
