Collins' being made available had everything to do with the fact that he was a mess off the field and nothing to do with his ability, though. Kind of a big difference.
Mettenberger was likely a top 10 pick until his knee went. Like Collins, he's not the brightest fella. Pretty close comparison when you add in the body, arm, etc.

And Dallas is 4th in the waiver order. He'd be an upgrade but he'll probably be on the opposite sideline in 2 weeks.
