If he posted that at 3:17 and you posted it at 3:17 do you have some sort of notification set that anytime someone mentions Giants you get an alert or something?
I mean you're like Anak on the Spot with this Twitter stuff.

I thought he looked better than "Suddenly" Seymour and "False Start" Gettis
I guess Gettis has made enough progress at center to be a credible option backing up Richburg, in addition to his main role behind Pugh.
It's still quite possible that the backup OC/LG isn't on the roster yet. For now, the top eight OL appear to be Flowers-Pugh-Richburg-Jerry-Newhouse-Beatty*-Hart-Gettis. There's normally room for nine on the roster, but the Giants could initially cut to eight if the Dillon Farrells and Ryan Seymours aren't worth protecting.

Beatty? Since like Cruz, he hasn't played in like forever either, his old LT position makes the most sense. Flowers would go to RT and have to "earn" his way back to LT.

I'd be shocked if they moved Flowers. Beatty will most likely have to beat out Newhouse.
is everyone surprised by McDermott? He was only playing late in the 4th quarter of games.
From practice reports where he was getting a lot of snaps with the second team at a variety of positions. In the Miami game, I even questioned why Gettis was in for Richburg when McDermott was getting most of the second team reps at Center.

Agreed. But it's good to know that Beatty would at least be a serviceable LT if Flowers was hurt. Everything wouldn't go to hell. Hopefully. I still think they may pick up another OL after teams cut to 53. My guess is it would be someone who didn't have to pass through waivers.

Practice reports are ancient history. I've been spelling out the pecking order in game reviews.

I only skim those to see if you wrote nice things about Jay Bromley.
Yup. Beatty is the swing tackle until/unless he beats out Newhouse.
This is more an indictment on Hart in my opinion. He was pretty bad on Saturday (albeit a VERY tough opponent).
Agreed. If Hart were showing anything at tackle the Giants would conceivably have 4 guys on the OL that can play tackle in a pinch in Flowers, Pugh, Newhouse and Hart. There would be no need for Beatty if Hart was showing progress.
Source tells me that the Giants have released WR Kadron Boone.

He wasn't even playing with the second unit.

I thought they were grooming him for the "Boothe" role of versatile interior lineman. Now, obviously, they weren't.

Eric, should we post the cuts as they come in here, or create a new thread for each one or just wait until they're announced in their entirety?

Wasn't he, though, before last week?
Giants cut DE Mike Rose, per source.
I'd be shocked if they moved Flowers. Beatty will most likely have to beat out Newhouse.
The full list isn't out yet.
WR Kadron Boone
WR K.J. Maye
OC Shane McDermott
DE Mike Rose
CB Joe Powell
S/CB Bennett Jackson
S Cooper Taylor
